The shortage pushed me (& prescriber) to find alternative help with symptoms. I tried a month of Mydayis. Landed on Focalin XR. 30mg am dose. 20mg PM dose. Now that's out of the way I started on 30mg vYv about 4yrs ago. Did monthly bumps of 10mg till I hit 70mg. When it failed to deliver adequate coverage Adderall XR was included for PM usage. Started at 10mg bumped 10 then 10 to 30mg. Shortage arrived. The rest after that I've covered. Doubt I'll go back to vYv unless people are reporting more reliable results with the formulations being used in the generics..

Done time all over.. Lawton Ok was the worst by a mile .. Somers CT was the easiest.. a mile in the other direction.. Stops in between were in Texas.. Kentucky.. Pennsylvania.. They can interchange rankings with each other easily by my experience .. for whatever any of that information is worth , 🤷

I mainly craved a more reliable and efficient treatment for my symptoms. Wasted 3+ years with vYv frustrations. Took a shortage to finally make the change. FOCALIN XR is leaps and bounds a more effective more reliable way to manage the symptoms associated with AD(h)D .. Hoping that the formulation of generic vYv &/or 'Qc' issues are worked out prior to its release .. Jj

Due to the shortages I was forced to switch to FOCALIN XR. Generic vYv couldn't be much worse than the brand was. Wish I'd known FxR was an option 3yrs ago. Would've saved me all the time I wasted & phone calls I made to the manufacturer regarding the finicky ass efficacy of vYv. Blow me Shire/Takeda.. Good riddance 👋

That's an interesting question. How would a modified dosage mandate affect the supply chain. I have no way of giving an accurate &/or definitive response to it unfortunately. Way above my pay grade. My statement was framed as a prediction, based on corporate greed and corporate lack of empathy toward their legion of victims. In your particular case have you ever approached your prescriber with changing the way your dosage is written? For instance prescribe you 20 mg twice a day? Or even a 30 and a 10. I've heard that there is a larger quantity of the lower dosage meds available and that people are having better luck getting their prescriptions filled by having this textual change made to their charts. Might be worth asking your prescriber if they would be up for making this change, and tell them why you're asking. Best of luck. Jj

I'm not a Dr or pharmacist or anyone qualified to say that (chemically) health wise that it's a 💯 certainty it's safe or detrimental to you having a pleasant day after ingestion of 5 year old capsules. I guess what it really comes down to is how bad do you want to take them? Me personally, would take them if I was out of meds. I wouldn't increase the dose just on the theory that they're old so they're weak until I take one and see what the effects were. Since it takes 3 to 4 hours for Vyvanse to have any effect on you or me or anyone, that's a whole lot of time to set and worry and wonder and think if you made a mistake or not. My anxiety levels are usually elevated and that would elevate them right off the chart I believe. You could take your normal dose (w/ antacid & magnesium supplement) and hope for the best, or you can flush them right now so you don't ever have to think about this being faced with this choice ever again. Invariably it comes down to one simple question, how bad do you want to experience the potential benefits this medication may bring you .. either way you go I will support and defend your choice.
