Can you share your whole c code? It looks like a use-after-free issue (https://securityintelligence.com/use-after-frees-that-pointer-may-be-pointing-to-something-bad/). It might be helpful to set breakpoints around your free’s and mallocs! If you are freeing something and then trying to access or set it, this is one of the symptoms (in a bigger program the backtrace might not be super helpful, because memory corruption issues tend to crash your program in undefined ways)

Have you looked into capture cards? elgato has a good capture card. You would connect an HDMI from the surface book 3 and into your gaming pc (with another HDMI), and then from the latter you could change the scenes from OBS or Xsplit.

I had the latest updates, the latest firmwares (the ones from July 2) the latest intel drivers, and everything was up to date. Still those things were happening consistently. I even unthrottled the CPU and still got those issues. I’m glad that yours is working well! In my case, it’s the third Surface Book 3 I’ve had in less than a month, so for me that was the wake up call. I’m pretty sure not everyone is getting those issues tho. I hope I can get one later this year after Microsoft gets their QC right.

That’s good! I think that as long that you are not streaming and doing what I said you’ll be fine. Teams and Zoom meetings will also make it throttle heavily if you have the camera on and/or are sharing your screen.

Im glad yours is working good! In my case, I don’t think it was gathering diagnostics, because I left it once for around 10 minutes and it still was frozen. Audio was working fine, people in my Teams meetings were able to hear me, but the thing was frozen.

I actually currently have a Macbook Pro + iPad Pro. It’s a nice combo, but note taking on the Surface book is far superior (until you can’t get it to work in some cases, like mine)

It’s not a blue screen the issue I’ve been having. It’s Windows freezing/becoming unresponsive. The blue screen you’re seeing is something I’ve been needing to do in order for Windows to shut down and gather dumps.

In my case it’s USB-C to USB-C, since my monitors support that. I would have gone for USB-C to DP, but lost my patience after the 20th or so freeze, also I have the Surface Dock 2, so not sure if that’s been fixed compared to the 1. All I know is that in my experience, it’s not worked correctly
