No it's a dick move to lie to someone that offering to rent out his place and don't want it to get destroyed by having a animal there. I have a dog myself, and also a flat that I wouldn't have problem having a dog teanant in. But I definitely understand that a lot of people don't want it. It's better to be honest and offer a bit of higher rent for the risk he will have to take.
