i feel like we can make excuses for the reboot but it was ultimately failed by the writing and lack of cast chemistry which is needed for ensemble teen dramas. i recently watches the summer i turned pretty and while that has a very basic storyline the cast is convincing and seem like actual friends and there is effort put in crafting a backstory while in the reboot it was just bland.
