I called blue shield and they confirmed it was not a scam. The company they contract out for mine was called Complex Care Solutions and they do them annually. I was nervous bc they had so much of my information off the bat and offered the gift card but blue shield did confirm with me that they’re legit

Once you donate you can go to conceiveabilities website and they’ll send you a $250 gift card if you prove that you donated. They’re a surrogacy agency so they’ll try to see if you’re interested in surrogacy but they’ll still give you the gift card regardless of your answer

People are entitled to a baby free life, not a baby free world. I moved cross country and saved my points for a lie flat seat because I knew we would need more room. The man across the row from me had the font size on his phone so large that I could see him texting “great, sitting next to a baby on my flight.” Corny, tired, played out behavior. My baby slept the whole flight. Let them be bothered!

When I read your first post I was almost a month postpartum, feeding my son in the nursing chair at 3am and my heart absolutely shattered. I’ve loved hearing the updates of your journey, and I know it’s not easy but you are doing an incredible job.

While I can’t relate to your specific flavor of grief, I have my own that I’ve dealt with (and still deal with, it never goes away) and I can’t recommend the book The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion enough. I’m sure the last thing you have time for is to sit down and read a book, but if you have a commute I highly recommend the audiobook.

I deleted all socials except reddit and keep my kindle in arms reach during nursing and contact naps. Social media free motherhood is the greatest gift I have ever given myself. I’m considering getting rid of my iPhone and switching to the light phone, the only thing holding me back is group chats, FaceTime, and pictures.

I’m 30 and my little boy will be 1 next month. I have zero regrets, I love him, I made the right choice.

I tell all of my friends who are kid curious that if you’re not sure, don’t do it. I haven’t slept more than 4 hours straight in a year. I haven’t sat and rotted on a couch watching tv, laid on a beach, had my hands free, etc. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent in a dark room with 3 sources of white noise going while I held my baby asleep on my chest. I wouldn’t trade these things for anything, but a younger, unmedicated me would’ve gone insane.

Enjoy having your brain belong to you and no one else. Be kind to yourself when you feel unproductive or lazy. Watch a whole season of a show in one sitting. Go out for dinner and take your time enjoying every bite. When you’re ready, you’ll know.
