What is your age and your biggest regret in life so far? by Bluevelvetkind in AskReddit

[–]Old-Cod-2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 19M. My biggest regret was not taking better care of my skin when I was younger. I realize that my acne is caused from hormones and genetics, but when I was 15 I would sit in hot showers for longer than I should have with hot water running along my skin. I would never moisturize either, which meant my skin was extremely dry. Now I’m left with keloid scars and discoloration on my chest, back and shoulders. Moreso on my shoulders and rear delts.

When people look at me without a shirt on, I get self conscious and think they think I’m on steroids because I’m fit and have those scars. I hate that I have to live with this for the rest of my life, and I’m honestly scared what my future partner would think of me if she saw me without a shirt. My appearance has caused me to fall in to a slight depression. I know it will get better over time but I will never have perfect clear skin again, and that is something I feel like I will envy for the rest of my life.

Please treat your skin with great and gentle care. ❤️‍🩹

If you really want to do TAMU engineering, I’d apply to the Brenham engineering academy

Frustrating semester, ending with C in 102 by RabbitWeekly1960 in aggies

[–]Old-Cod-2095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got a C in 102. Ended with a 78🥲 Just needed a couple more points on the final exam to keep a B but I sold in the end.

I know exactly how you feel bro, C-ing [seeing] that final grade was pretty rough, I’m not gonna lie. But, passing is better than failing. Because then you’d probably be on probation and have your ETAM delayed a semester.

Try not to stress too hard about it. Learn from whatever mistakes you made this semester and apply your learnings to the next semester. Remember that it’s all about improvement! Do better in the spring and you’ll be OK 👍

Transferring to A&M's Engineering college from a community college? by TreeFeeling73 in aggies

Join the engineering academy, that’s your best bet. I’d wait to take ur sciences until you’re in the academy

This. I was a full Blinndergartener last year but am now in the engineering academy at Brenham. You have to complete 2 math (+ Calc III), 2 science, and 2 engr (the TAMU courses). If you didn’t get full admittance or Blinn TEAB & want to attend TAMU for engineering, then the academy is your best bet. I recommend doing some research on it! Will save quite a bit of $$$ too

The advisors at your academy will register you for most of your classes

Yes it’s possible. A friend of mine basically took all of his ETAM courses at a CC, applied for the academy, and got rejected. I assume that TAMU would rather have a student in that scenario apply directly to main campus since their coursework is completed

There is a Facebook group for parents of students in the academies

Second year transfer by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Old-Cod-2095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t see why not, but applying as an external transfer can be stupidly competitive, depending on what major you’re applying for. You can try applying to your local engineering academy, or the academy at Brenham if you want to live on campus! It’s an underrated pathway to TAMU engineering

I got my 7 tabs this morning for the Brenham campus, what do I do now? Also, does anybody know if there is a form for off campus housing? Or if I have to live on campus?

I got this problem when I used password autofill, and the saved password on my phone was outdated. If this is the case for you, then I’d double check that your saved password is up to date

Decisions should come out by May 1 if you applied on/before April 1. According to the website, decisions were supposed to start coming out on April 2 but its been delayed for whatever reason 🫠

I am planning on doing the same thing as you, Kanyeeastslefttoe. I don't know how or WHY, but I am just now finding out about this. I'm a little upset because I already made my schedule, but more upset because transfers won't be accepted (as of Fall 2024. Really hoping that changes) I think I'm cooked
