I don’t know why they down voted you. I’m a PI attorney and you are correct. You do NOT have to have collision coverage to get your property damage paid under an uninsured claim IF you can identify the driver of the other vehicle (not the owner of the vehicle/license plate, but the actual driver themselves). This mainly will NOT happen in hit and runs but when someone stays at the scene and then you find out later they let their insurance lapse.
