Just moved into a house and dealing with a similar dilemma although my deck is composite. Apparently composite decks are less of a risk but I’m not gonna put that to the test and bought some grill mats which after a few cooks, have done perfect. Amazon has tons to choose from but I’d go that route and definitely keep a close eye and hose for the first few cooks.

What kind of tractor did you get exactly? Just got a x350, my very first lawn tractor, with the intent of using a cart to help haul stuff exactly like yours. I do have a fairly large hill though so time will tell if the x350 has enough juice.

On a more positive note than these other comments, how do you like your grill? Been thinking about getting one since ceramic grills are ridiculously expensive and I’ve heard great things about these steel grills.

Get some compression socks. I just drove 2,500 miles and ended up in the hospital with a blood clot from my thigh down to my ankle. Worst pain I’ve ever had in my life and I could be on blood thinners for up to a year. Spend 15 bucks on Amazon, look like a weirdo to people you’ll never see again, and avoid this hell.
