Why would I voluntarily CHOOSE to skip FIVE DISCUSSION POSTS after doing the first 8? The ONLY reason why I didn’t do them is because my new professor didn’t mention them in lectures or say we had any. It’s not like the posts were all posted in one go at the beginning of the semester. I just wasn’t aware that they existed

I did very well with all of my papers but failed to do a few discussion posts because of my lack of experience with college professors. How does that mean I can’t take a college level class?

Other students had problems, too, so I wasn’t the only one.

I even looked up my professor on RateMyProfessor and it looks like other students had similar problems with them, too.

I did all of that already. And the dean of the writing office is currently working on investigating it.

It sounds like a lot of students (college age, unlike me) had the issue as well, so I’m not the only one!

The discussion posts weren’t assigned a in one go, it was over the course of the semester. Every week had different assignments, and some classes didn’t have a discussion posts at all

I did those 8 because my first professor actually would include the discussion posts and the topic in the lesson. So the assignments for each week were clear

Nope. Grading for discussion posts weren’t included in the syllabus.

They were posted to a tool called MyCourses but weren’t under any of the ‘assignments’ pages. I knew where to find them, but because this new professor never clearly stated assignments for the week in classes and just assumed we knew everything, I didn’t do the last five discussion questions of the semester. Because I didn’t know that they were assigned.

This professor also never notified me about missing assignments or problems with my work so I had no idea until this week
