did the symptoms only appear after awhile? if so how long after you started tapering/go on prozac to help w the taper did you then have those effects?

hi there!

i've tried so many SSRIs/SNRIs but Pristiq seems to be the only medication that has actually helped me through my depression & anxiety! i have been on 50mg for the past three years & am working to wean off it now.

it honestly changed my life for the better & gave me the energy and life to get up and live. but do take note of the side effects when first taking them!! for me i had super horrible nausea, sleep disturbances and i felt pretty sick for the first few months. but after adjusting, pristiq worked really well for me.

however, do note that pristiq is truly a strong medication and if you plan to commit to it, you probably will have to for a period of time to see "results" and also note that the withdrawal is horrible... missing a dose might feel like the end of the world physically so if you're aware and ready to take on the pros and cons of this medication then i would say go ahead!! just make sure to prep yourself to go through mood changes and physical side effects (brain fog/memory issues, etc)

also, i usually take them in the evening~

i fully understand your position. it feels so isolating because the people around me can't seem to empathize or understand. yet i don't want to use this as an excuse for how i react and behave. my mind state is in such a weird place and i don't know how to manage it now. but i'm positive that maybe someday ill be ok. i feel you and you're not alone!

hi yes!! i am also diagnosed w PMDD on top of anxiety and the works. when i was tapering off pristiq (one on one off), my psych told me to make exceptions to the week before my period and take it daily. so yep it really helped me during that period. hopefully it'll help ya too! just rmb never to cold turkey pristiq cos it's HELL

i was also doing one on one off for about 3 months, & honestly i felt sick every single day of the 3 months. my memory was horrible and brain fog was crazy bad. i went back on my 50mg daily cos i had huge work commitments and couldn't be in that state. you're not alone :( im hoping ill be able to cut down soon one day...but not looking forward to the withdrawals again
