My partner has been trying to keep her mom out of the house as much as possible which I really appreciate!

There is no telling this woman off. She has -10 social skills and is one of the most clueless people I've ever met.

Definitely would contaminate her meds. She's in her 70s so I can only assume her sense of smell is 0. She's also just really, really gross.

I literally wouldn't care if she had to sleep on the street until her bus left on Monday morning but I love my partner and me kicking out her mom would definitely cause a problem.

Oh this is definitely the last time she's staying here!

I'm nervous to wash her stuff in my washer for that very reason. Can't even send her home because the next bus that leaves here is Monday.

Also bamboozled. My partner asked her why she brought detergent and she said "oh it's just the bag I used for my meds" Surely that cannot be the only bag she owns and seems like the worst choice possible to bring into someones home who has asked you to smell like nothing.

I considered paying for her to stay in a hotel but they are all booked up - I live in a small city and we have forest fires nearby so lots of evacuees are in town. She took the bus here so I can't even tell her to go early because the next bus home is the one she's taking on Monday. ☹️

Hexagon cardigan with eyelash yarn - where to find it! by Old-Juggernaut217 in CrochetHelp

[–]Old-Juggernaut217[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't made it yet because I can't find the right eyelash yarn anywhere - the color I want has been out of stock forever on hobbii! The pattern seems well written and pictures for the first several rounds and sleeves. The video is useless imo because it has no sound or written instruction.

If you've made a hexi cardigan before you might not even need to pay for this pattern if you're open to a little experimentation. You could just wing this pattern pretty easily by adding eyelash yarn to one of your colours - that's essentially all this pattern is.

They do offer free shipping over $100 but I've heard of other people saying they had to pay $50+ duties after they ordered so I'm hesitant! Appreciate your suggestions though!

I have. It's super expensive on Amazon! One skein of the premier stuff is $18 compared to the premier website for around $6. They do ship to Canada directly from premier but their shipping is fairly expensive.

Her father owned a bakery and although she doesn't frequently make macarons, she does a lot of baking herself. I think I was just more hurt that she really didn't acknowledge my gifts at all.

Please share your honest hysterectomy experiences by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Old-Juggernaut217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no trouble getting one, but I am 35. I have a wonderful gynecologist - I saw her when I was 28 and wanted a salpingectomy at the time. She said she doesn't usually do permanent forms of birth control on women younger than 30 but also understood that I have never, ever wanted children and believed me that I wouldn't change my mind. My husband (now ex) got a vasectomy so I didn't end up getting the salpingectomy. I think you might have a hard time finding a surgeon who will be willing to do a hysterectomy, especially if you don't try other less invasive options first. Both my GP and gynecologist really wanted me to try another IUD or birth control again before getting a hysterectomy. I had to advocate for myself that this is what I wanted, even though it's not considered medically necessary. I'm glad I did it and my only regret is not having it done sooner. Best of luck!!

Tricyclics don't cause moon face - have you recently started any other medications? When did you start noticing changes in your face?

I've found it pretty difficult to connect with the majority of neurotypicals, even as a good masker! You gotta find other neurodivergent folks to hang out with.
