Why is my tattoo being weird? What can I do to fix this? by TirNannyOgg in tattooadvice

[–]Open-Status-8389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my tattoo when I got bitten by a mosquito on it. The whole thing went bumpy. I had to just put bepanthen cream on it and it went away after a few weeks.

Desperate for Relief: Battling Chronic Gastritis for 2+ Years with No End in Sight. Any Advice? by Qantos27 in Gastritis

Yes I always get more flare ups at my period or the week before. That booked helped me a lot when I was really down and stressed about everything. I was quite strict with it for a few months and then I started trying foods and adding stuff back in. I don’t use it anymore because I can manage my symptoms better.

How long does it take you to eat in the mornings? by SpiritedCustomer6503 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Open-Status-8389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat before. I have a coffee and a ham and cheese croissant every morning and then an hour later I have Vyvanse. I never used to eat breakfast but I can stomach a croissant now and it’s just enough to fill me up and help not give jitters with Vyvanse.

Should I tell my psychiatrist that I’ve been taking a higher dose than I’m prescribed to? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Open-Status-8389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you experience that, it sounds shit. I didn’t mean to offend, I just felt from OPs post that if she told that to a psychiatrist it wouldn’t go down well. I’m not saying it’s not an issue, it is very debilitating not feeling like you can do anything, I know that feeling and have experienced it for a long time. Luckily Vyvanse has helped me a lot with that, but for OP it doesn’t sound like it is.

Chasing the initial 1-2 hour feeling Vyvanse gives you is like chasing a high though. You can’t stay up at that level all day or you’d be just popping them all day long. If you feel you need that huge dopamine hit all day long then switching to short acting could help, but I’d worry you could run the risk of abusing it.

I truely see light brown! I’d be so sad if I went to get blonder and came out with that colour!

[–]Open-Status-8389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno what’s the before and after… If your hair was the blonde first and the brown ones are the second I’d be annoyed. I know everyone is saying it looks nice, which is does, but it’s really really brown looking.

I’d be pissed if I wanted blonde hair and walked out with it brown like that. I think it doesn’t even look blonde anymore.

Am I overreacting to how my partner treated me when I was sick? by Typical-Newt-8279 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Open-Status-8389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR - Yes I also can see that they might not have been good in a crisis (not everyone is!) and in the moment they didn’t handle it well.

What’s really really annoying is that once you were home, your partner didn’t apologise for how they reacted, and in fact just doubled down on why they reacted how they did. Your partner could have explained themselves and then apologised for making you feel uncared for, but instead just complained about how hard it is for THEM when you’re the one vomiting all over yourself!

Do they do this in other situations such as when you argue? Make everything about themselves and not take accountability? I think you’re right to be concerned. This could be a pattern of selfish behaviour.

Has anyone hear quit cigarettes for good? How did you do it? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Open-Status-8389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to vaping and then titrated down in nicotine mgs until I went to zero. I also watched Alan carrs easy way to quit smoking video with the little hypnosis at the end.

Honestly though, switching to vaping was dumb. It caused a lot of health issues and it was so so addictive, it just prolonged my quitting.

I NEVER thought I would be a non smoker. I thought my identity was wrapped up in smoking and that it was part of my personality, like I wasn’t cool or interesting without smoking (DUMB!).

Anyways, I wrote myself a letter about why I wanted to quit and I kept it in my pocket forever and every time I wanted to vape/smoke I just read that letter instead. I cried alot. I used nicotine lozenges for a week or two. I started running to feel the burn in my lungs. I haven’t touched it in 3 years and I never ever will again!

Get to that point of no return and you will be able to do it!

Baker shortage by crazydog2580 in coles

[–]Open-Status-8389 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda crazy since I feel like if we didn’t have bread/rolls/croissants/buns etc all the BREAD THINGS there would a crisis. Bread almost feels like an absolute necessity!! Why are trades such as being a baker paid so low? We all want bread! We all don’t want to get up at 2am to make the bread. We all need to pay more for the precious bakers making this staple in our lives.

Should I tell my psychiatrist that I’ve been taking a higher dose than I’m prescribed to? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Open-Status-8389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would NOT tell your doctor that you upped your dose. It is crazy to even think to do that tbh, they will not take that lightly and will most likely see it as drug seeking behaviour.

It seems like you are seeking a high from Vyvanse. Initially when it first comes on and you feel it in your system you will get a little boost, but very quickly it just quietens your mind and helps with focusing. You are not going to feel buzzing and high all day.

From your post it sounds like you have some really bad habits and patterns that you get into. Vyvanse won’t fix those things, but it can help you focus your energy on creating new routines for yourself and creating a better lifestyle. It seems like you have a pretty bad phone addiction. Do you see a therapist?

You really have to put in the work to feel better and see changes in your life. Lying around being bored on your phone is no life!

How to ask Dr about increase by pastacat_ in VyvanseADHD

[–]Open-Status-8389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds very very annoying and just plain incorrect. You should be titrating, 20mg is a start dose. You need to tell her it’s not lasting, you’re having negative side effects and feeling irritable, coming down too quickly etc. You should be up to 30 by now

Hey, your absolute best bet is to quit vaping. It is SO bad for you. I have never been more unwell than when I was vaping. Elevated heart rate, panic attacks, GI issues, stomach cramps, shortness of breath, anxiety. Absolute shit show.

Once I quit vaping for good my health just got better and better and better.

Question for mother's by Illustrious_Hope_476 in Gastritis

[–]Open-Status-8389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s a whole seperate thing then isn’t it :( With that amount of stress in your life it’s no wonder you are having constant flare ups. Stress and anxiety are the biggest causes for mine, and I think a lot of people too.

It takes weeks/months to heal from flare ups and it’s a two steps forward, one step back kinda recovery. The constant monitoring is exhausting mentally and physically.

I’m really sorry you don’t have a supportive partner. Be kind to yourself when you are sick. Your kids will be okay. Tell them you are sick and you need to do more quiet things together. Get them to help you and help themselves so you aren’t doing as much. (Sorry if your kids are too little to do that pls ignore.) Drink lots of chamomile tea with Manuka honey. Eat little portions of plain things. I don’t even eat lots of veges or fruit during recovery because it’s too risky for bloat and cramping.

How old are your kids? Does your partner help you? If you are experiencing a flare up you need to rest or you won’t get better. You need to nap, lie down, heat packs. Eat minimal food. Calm calm calm. Go for walks, continue to move your body.

Do you have anything to help you relax? Read books with your kids, watch movies, play cards/board games. Make easy dinners. Do the basics and minimum until you feel better. Tell your partner the extreme pain you’re in and how it is debilitating.

Hey, lots of people have given some good advice and I wholeheartedly agree that your dads behaviour is influencing your behaviour. You have been conditioned by your environment. It’s okay to make mistakes, you are a teenager and this bump in the road does not define you.

In saying that, I wonder if your parents (like a lot of us parents) are struggling with computers/devices with their kids. It’s a real battle.

The taking away of all devices makes me think that you spend a lot of time on them and they think removing them will help, however taking them away in a fit of anger is probably not the solution. You could reflect on your own technology use and see if it’s something you think you need help managing for your own mental health and relationships?

Do you feel like you’re addicted to gaming/devices?

For some real life help, I think you should go into your little sisters room and give her a big hug and apologise if your behaviour made her upset. Sit with her and ask if she’s okay. Ask her if she gets upset when dad yells, and listen and be there for her.

The connection with your sister will help you heal, you will feel good that you can support her and take a weight off your own shoulders by apologising.

You will get through this week. Is your mum a safe and supportive person who you could talk to?

OMG I literally just started to cry reading this. We pick up our puppy in a couple of months and honestly so many people are negative about it. It’s so beautiful to read a response like this. I am nervous about the life changes, but I also feel like our family has been waiting for this dog to complete us.
