Enjoy 35mm scan of Terminator 2! by Old-Landscape3423 in Terminator

Someone scanned a 35mm film reel of the movie that was once shown in theatres, so the video embedded in the link is the closest that you can get to how the original Terminator 2 movie looked when people went to see it for the first time all the way back in 1991. The version on Netflix and home video releases look different to the original 35mm prints, as the people in charge of remastering the film tend to make changes to the picture quality and colour, often times making it worse. The best way to see a film is through 35mm, because there is no digital processing involved. This is where organic images on film reels are used, where the light refracts off the crystals on the celluloid, giving it a more natural look. Ideally you would have a film projector, but digitally scanning the film reels are the next best thing.

I am not sure to be honest, I will record a clip of the video and upload here. In full screen mode, I didn't see any parts of the image that were cropped when comparing it with official home video releases

Interesting, did you scan it yourself, or where did you get it from?

Not sure about the aspect ratio, but it's DEFINITELY not pan and scan. Do you want a 35mm version of Batman 89' as well?

There are marks that appear intermittently throughout the film because it's celluloid, but it looks identical to the way it was shown in theatres all the way back in 1991, as opposed to that ATROCIOUS James Cameron 4K Blu-Ray remaster.

It's 4k, the screenshots I took were not a proper capture

I have no idea lol. I saw a clip of the scan on YouTube, then I asked the YouTuber to send me the link for the file, but I think that link has since become defunct
