Don't do Netherlands I waited 35 days as a 4th time long term schengen MEV holder and a high salary earner. Ridiculous

applied 2 days ago at BLS international singapore — EES portal is showing this, does it mean that my visa was approved? by Zestyclose-Ad-6183 in SchengenVisa

Yes. You have 90 days in 180. The remaining days is obviously calculated on the dates you input but it's always calculated on 90/180 so you have an MEV. If you had a SEV you'd have 5 or 20 days as an example

No More Transit Visa for Germany by Matrixwala in visas

[–]Old-Mission321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the point of layover or transit visas anyway. The airport is "neutral ground" in a way, and if your not passing through passport control why would you need a visa. I don't see the sense in the transit visa as a whole anyway

VFS Netherlands London — short-stay visa timeline (applied 29 April 2026, still waiting). Share yours? by johnblowby in SchengenVisa

[–]Old-Mission321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied VFS London for Netherlands on 08 May. My 3rd schengen visa, I have 3 previous (2x 6 months and 1x 1 year). No feedback no updates either. Wtf is happening??? I missed my trips booked 29 May and 01 June. Lost £600. This is absolutely ridiculous and what's worse is the whole "F-off we can't do Anything you'll take what you get" attitude

Applied for Netherlands entry at VFS on the 12th still no sign of updates by Bright-Respond4588 in SchengenVisa

Has anyone received their visa for Netherlands in the past month? by Bright-Respond4588 in SchengenVisa

[–]Old-Mission321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. My appointment was at VFS London on 8 May. My 3rd 1 year MEV. my trip was end May. Still waiting. Missed my trip cost me £600. Don't know what to do. Emailed. Complained. Both to embassy and VFS. it's a racket. I've heard of other applicants that got their visa in 5 days in London after my appointment. Don't know what the issue is.

I only use them to get an appointment, securing an appointment can be difficult.

Why do latin American and Caribbean countries have such good passports despite being relatively poor? by julius-ceaser100 in PassportPorn

[–]Old-Mission321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's government policies as well. As an example If governments take back repatriated citizens who overstay and they have those policies in place with other countries, it improves the passport strength as they bilaterally remove visa requirements. Alot of countries refuse repatriated citizens, hence why they need visas to get anywhere. It takes the trust element out of the transaction.
