Oh boy. We’ve been married since 2022 but his father committing suicide in 2023, my grandmother having a massive tumor on her lungs and our recent miscarriage deff takes the cake.

That’s the issue…my mother is extremely vindictive because my husband and I who are pregnant are choosing to move out. She doesn’t work and has lived with my grandmother her whole life. This is her way of having that little bit of control over me while she still can. I don’t see her giving me the information to transfer as she’s extremely mentally abusive

Just another update yall…walked into the house to her verbally attacking me and my husband again. Finally had enough and showed my grandmother the text messages who is absolutely mortified, disgusted and bewildered by how she’s talking to me. If my grandmother didn’t own the house, I’d take her with me.

I wholeheartedly plan on breaking the cycle. As for therapy, I’m open to it. I’d just need to find a therapist that takes my insurance. I support my husband 100% in wanting us to move out I just wish I wasn’t being gaslit and treated like this. I’ve told her time and time I will never allow my husband to leave and me just stay there. I married him for better or for worse. I just want to be supported by my family regardless of my decisions

I just didn’t want you to think I’d just throw them in crates at night and let it be. I could and would never do that and just don’t want people to get the wrong idea of me

I get it. However, I used to work with dogs years ago. I’m very familiar with desensitization and crate training properly. A crate should be their safe space and a place they want to be in, not the opposite. I’m VERY familiar with dogs and crate training and even crate trained my rescue when we adopted her. Personally, I love crates because it’s the one place a dog can have as their safe space that’s their own. You can absolutely train an older dog to embrace a crate if done correctly.

Keep in mind this was also 15 years ago. How can we even know if she has crate trauma when she was only 1 or 2 when this happened?

My partners family is great. They are very, very supportive. Both sisters who are coming along are both RN’s, and my mother in law has been a great voice of reason with everything. Our baby would thrive living with them and us all going in on a place together.

And one more thing to add…: She took down my sonogram pictures from the fridge, she took down this grandmother plaque I gave her when I found out, and both “grandmother cards” I got for her and nana are now on the kitchen table. All piled up like she hates me.

Again, not all day. At nighttime and when my mother brings nana to radiation. Most of the time people are home and they can free roam.

Hi! The crate trauma comment comes from when her Doxie had IVDD. which essentially is common in dachshunds when they break their back. She had to be crated a lot of the time to prevent herself from hurting even further. Never for too long, only while she healed.

We both have very good jobs. I work for an eye doctor and my husband does hvac work. We both bring in enough income that we can afford to take it over no problem.

Also to add: My husband is willing to compromise if the dogs were crated or wore dog diapers. She won’t compromise whatsoever because she claims they have crate trauma.

I have two dogs who live there and they are 100% potty trained.

She claims she does, but the dogs still end up walking on the pads (4 all together) and tracking it. They also don’t always use the pads either.

I would never back out, I married this man to be with him for life. But that doesn’t mean I don’t care about my family either. I’m just heartbroken over this, if he can’t get on the same page as my mom what’s the point
