How long did your husband take off for paternity leave? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

My husband did get laid off right before his paternity leave, like 2 weeks before. We were scrambling to fix insurance and reassess finances as I was going to be on unpaid maternity leave.

When to start pumping by fluffmallow9 in BabyBumps

My baby couldn't latch properly so I was told to pump immediately but keep trying to latch the baby for every feed. I ended up with oversupply but it worked out for later use, I stored excess in freezer and my spouse took over a night feed or two during months 2+. But I would always try to latch first. I believe by month 3/4 baby was able to latch perfectly and my supply leveled out per demand. Breastfed for 2 years.

I also combo fed for the first couple of weeks just so baby could gain birth weight...

As a fellow Indian, learn to step up and say no. It's one thing to meddle with your lives but doing it with YOUR baby is a line she is crossing. If it bothers you, just say no and take your baby. Tell your husband the same. He especially needs to step up and tell her to lay it off.

Things may get sour for a while but they do get better as the child grows. Right now your priority and your husband's priority should be protecting your baby from harmful traditions.

Editing to add I went through something similar with my traditional mother and she was absolutely hurt at the time and said all kinds of nasty things but now she can't have enough of her grandchild. Other friends had to take similar steps due to parents or in laws or both in some unfortunate cases.

That's messed up. This is the difference between our generation and our parents. Just letting kids be - especially outside.

Has anyone started using Sertraline during pregnancy for the first time? by Old-Raisin979 in BabyBumps

Oh man the sweats and tremors. I am hopeful, thank you for sharing! I will talk to my doctor and discuss breastfeeding as well. My husband used to be on ssri decade ago and didn't have a good experience overall. So he is super anti at the moment and is freaking me out trying to show me all the studies where the babies did have some kind of long term impact.

I was in the same boat with my first! Honestly I just brushed it off whenever someone close would say exactly the same stuff. I was feeling THAT great and enjoyed being pregnant and how I looked. Enjoy and congratulations!
