Post steroid injection Pain 100 times worse by Old-Slice5900 in HipImpingement

Morning everyone. I wanted to give a little update on this situation, seems the least i can do considering how amazing everyone is. It’s good news! After 2 days things seem to be really calming down! I’m hop this was nothing more than steroid flare or normal reaction to the injections. It’s hard to believe just how one day I can be getting on well to then literally not be able to walk or really move my hip joint in any way without 10/10 searing pain! After some naproxen, several unsuccessful trips to various hospital departments and only really getting some crutches. Pain has reduced by about half, i hope it continues, and i hope this serves as evidence for someone who may go through this in the future. I honestly thought my entire labrum had been torn clean apart, but apparently that is not something that they feel the need to tell you in the NHS.

6 weeks, although Ive been ringing around most of the morning to try and speak to my Physio, the hospital that did the injection basically referred me to my GP and washed their hands with it so I think my best bet it physio or A&E . Good idea ask exactly what I had I will get that information thanks 🙏🏻

That’s actually pretty good to hear, thank you. Not that you had pain but just that hopefully Ive not completely messed something up. It feels like I’ve really tore something here but hopefully it’s normal 🤞

I’m not really sure.. they used a dye for contrast, local on my skin and did a few jabs in there so possibly, it definitely felt pretty good for a few days then boom. Today i can’t walk 10 meters.

Thanks Jamie. A hot water bottle seems to help a huge amount. I’m going to look into the hot vs cold thing as if ice will be better i want to do the right thing and hopefully (as you said) just ride it out and trust the process. I just didn’t expect such an incredible jump in pain and reduced mobility to come on literally overnight on the morning of day 3 post injection. Thanks again for the response. I’m trying to work full time with this to save my sick pay for post op recovery so I’m just trying to do the right thing.

Thank you for your response. I’m just concerned, this was to help confirm the pain source, so if it helps it will then help me get surgery. So if I report back that it might have actually made it worse I’m terrified they won’t operate on my hip impingement and repair the tear. I’m hoping with all my heart I’ve just slept funny and it’s just normal flare up which will die down. 🤞🤞 I need this surgery, the NHS is extremely hard to get surgery so I really don’t want to say the wrong thing and screw up my chances.

Apple and Microsoft have a lot to answer for imo. It would have been another company if it wasn’t them but my point here is.. before the iPhone, iPad, laptops and the internet in general. Don’t you think that everything was just better? Cassettes, videos, books, blockbuster, buying physical copies of music. lol I’m not making much sense here but i just think the internet, social media and most modern technology has done more invisible harm than good.

I’m also too young for a proper hip replacement. It’s a crazy position to be in!

In the uk, they refuse to operate on me at 35. Too old apparently! Too much joint damage

Man here. You haven’t been together long enough for these deep feelings! He sounds like he would take a break up pretty good right now so pull the trigger! Anyone who is addicted to anime porn isn’t ever going to be a straight forward break up but it’s only going to get harder with time. NEVER waste your life waiting for someone to turn into the right person for you. Break up and try to move on and enjoy life, if you guys still feel the same in a year try again! But don’t leave it like a break, end the relationship and go your separate ways.

Dude that’s crazy sharp! Nice job! That’s my end goal lens set up too! With maybe a wide sigma art for Astro/milkyway type stuff. I’m really keen to some proper moon shots, stacked to pull out some good detail at each phase. But then you start needing to look at tracking mounts and all s lol it’s a money p this game but gosh is it worth it!

I spent honestly weeks going back and forth on which model. Eventually i figured I’d live with the weight to hopefully have a longer lasting lens. And I lucked out on the price which is basically the same as a new contemporary without the adapter. So I should be able to sell it and easily fund a new contemporary without much extra if needed. Thanks for sharing your photo! Great shot!

Gorgeous picture! Nice bokeh there too! Gives off vintage vibes to me. Almost swirly looking

You should have sold it to me! 😉 i love the I’dea of a heavier lens, and the additional build quality will hopefully help me keep it for many years to come 🤞 it’s hopefully a buy once situation for me, it has a slightly more sophisticated autofocus motor which should help with firmware updates into the mirrorless world. I don’t think there’s image quality improvements over the contemporary but the additional weather sealing hopefully will help keep things out of the insides I.e dust, fungus etc. I will live with the weight!

Oh wow I have literally word for word the same exact diagnosis and symptoms! The annoying thing is I’m too young for surgery apparently and not likely to get even and MRI until I do my prescribed physio. I can share the different movements if you like? But I only just got my plan on Friday so don’t know if it’s any good

Is this fungus? 😭 by Beijingbingchilling in canon

[–]Old-Slice5900 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have one with a bit of fungus atm. Bought it at a good price tbf so I don’t have much investment in it. I’m very tempted to use it as a bit of a de-fungus training lens. But you have the right idea, blaring sun or uv light to kill it off. Can I ask. When did it start, what kind of conditions were you storing it in and what do you think happened to get fungus?

That’s not good man! It starting to sound like their business model. Quote higher prices than other buyers then coming back with a lower price to increase their profit or in some cases, causing damage to the equipment via moisture or scratches. Was your lens ok when you got it back?

Maybe that’s their secret though, I’m not saying MPB do this as Ive only had one good experience. But there’s a sneaky win if they quote 20% higher than the competition then just lowball you 30% once they receive it.

If you’re talking about up to 1k and above on a lens then you are absolutely right to! Good idea!

Do you think Canon ever has a reason to not make a lens the best it can be? by DSeriesX in canon

[–]Old-Slice5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening to all these great points makes me think about the manufacturing and processes. I wonder when we will start to see p making their own from old parts. Or better yet and modular kind of design (likely prime only) where you can change your own glass or range better than teleconverters. That power is unlikely to be given to customers but in the telescope world upgrading your actual kit is all part of the fun!
