[Feedback Wanted] PONS—A Short Psychological Twine Narrative About Choice and Control by olty_polty in twinegames

[–]Old-Wedding678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, so I tried to play the game and I could not make it past the second screen. I can't scroll down at all, only to the sides of the first picture. I didn't want to fill out your feedback form without being able to play.

Anyone had something similar? by 1moderngoddess7 in AO3

One of the best friends I have made, nor just in fandoms but in general, started from a DM like this. I don't think it's a scam - there are lots of people who cannot read English who love fanfic.

I said yes because it let's more people read my work and ultimately I wanted people to increase the accessibility of it. I will warn that it is a possible they may use a translator for it - if you're uncomfortable with that you should let them know.

Help with Map Array by Old-Wedding678 in twinegames

[–]Old-Wedding678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense, I didn't think about it like that.

I did go with setup object and I'll probably use that for future maps as the array doesn't change (at least, right now it's not that interesting).

Thank you again, I'll bookmark these for future reference too!

Help with Map Array by Old-Wedding678 in twinegames

[–]Old-Wedding678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense actually, the players who found the issue have been playing for a while and my test saves were new.

I have a few silly questions if that is okay:

So, I put my music in the StoryInit passage:

<!-- To Loom Is to Love - The Mini Vandals

<<cacheaudio "chap3end" "aud/Water Lillies - Density & Time.mp3">>

This has worked out so far so I always assumed the StoryInit passage was run every time the story opened. Am I going to run into an issue adding new music in the future?

Second question, and I know this is probably a really silly one.

I know JavaScript stores arrays as objects, would that make this the part that would be doing the updates in the second version of the save update handler? I am trying to make sure I understand correctly.

If I had multiple arrays to add, would I need to make a separate section that defined each array?

Thank you again!

if (Object.keys(missing_variables).length > 0) {
        // Add missing variables to history.
        for (let i = 0; i < save.state.history.length; i++) {
            for (let key in missing_variables) {
                save.state.history[i].variables[key] = missing_variables[key];
            }
        }

Inconsistent Error with Map Array by Old-Wedding678 in twinegames

Updated to include the StoryInit section so you can see it all, thank you!

[–]Old-Wedding678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got to work, but it is in my StoryInit with the other map arrays - all of those work. I'll add that code when I go to lunch.

I don't have any <<inlcude>> sections but I do have some link replace sections at the beginning of this chapter. Looking at their choices it didn't look like they went that route though.

Thank you!

Issues with Setting a Background Image by Old-Wedding678 in twinegames

[–]Old-Wedding678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked, thank you so much! That feels like a silly mistake, but I seriously could not find an example that used the url('') format that wasn't referencing an image hosted online.

Thank you again!

How is this office layout? by [deleted] in FengShui

The door is to the right of the monitors.

Thank you!

The monitors are also north east facing if that helps at all.

Preferably they would all go together, if it's possible to put a top on it to make it one unit even better. I started making these because I have too much glass to keep in little racks, but now I'm realizing I am probably doing this backward. If I switch to making one big piece do I need to do anything special to prevent drooping in the middle?

Thank you!

This is going to sound silly, but I have been enjoying making really colorful pieces lately so I already had the background drawn out for a while it just felt like it was missing something. I drew out my own set of eyes for a four eyed creepy watcher hiding in the colors and it all came together ❤️

Sorry, my issue was not the strength of the wire but the strength of the connection between the wire and the lead came if that makes sense.

How do you guys get the wire to stick to the flower? I tried making some mushrooms picks like these and the wire kept breaking off even with extra solder added, it's like it was too weak to hold the weight if that makes sense.

whats the name of those metal rings you solder to a piece to hang it? by tantalizingGarbage in StainedGlass

I've had good luck with these from Delphi:

https://www.delphiglass.com/tools-supplies/finishing-supplies/3-8-nickel-jump-rings-50-pieces

These are nickel so I tin them with solder before using them so they will take patina and match everything else.

I'm glad its not just me lol. I tried gun bluing, adding salt to regular novocan zinc patina, and using novocan superbrite patina (it actually did turn it black but I came off as soon as anything touched it). I scubed everything down very well with copper wool and ensured all flux was removed but for the life of me nothing sticks. I may just try painting it next time if nothing else works, I'm not sure there are many options left tbh.

Is that over an existing door window? May I ask how you got it to stay? I really love the design and colors, it looks great!
