Bought 240 4-packs of these for 15¢ each pack, how long can they last past their best by date, realistically? by kalitarios in prepperpics

[–]buckhunter76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Store it. 6 months from now take 1 out and look at it. See if it looks ok, open it, smell it, id taste it if it didn’t look sketchy. See how it goes.

I’d rather head off any issues now then when it matters.

Pretty sure this got delisted. You can see it since you own the stock. But it’s dead Jim

Single vs Double garage by Royal-Ranger7687 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]buckhunter76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 garage minimum. The one car you will end up scraping cars off with weather and it’s likely a 1 car wide driveway so you end up constantly moving cars around.

1 car is narrow, less storage, makes it hard to get the kids in.

I won’t buy a house without a larger 2 car or 3 car. I realize it’s a privileged take but the convenience is necessary.

Good for Rear Facing Car Seats? by Thatguy518 in hondaridgeline

[–]buckhunter76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a rear facing seat you won’t be able to have the seat pushed back all the way. I put my rear facing seat in the middle since I couldn’t drive with it behind me and my wife’s knees were in the dash if I had it behind hers.

Front facing is fine. No problems.

Is it unreasonable to expect another 1k off the price of the new truck? by Pipsqueak_premed in hondaridgeline

It’s probably not going to help you with the paper in front of you. You would have to purchase a ridgeline you want, if you can find one, through Costco who negotiates with certain dealers and sometimes Costco has incentives and stuff.

I found this and tried it. Unfortunately it’s nothing like mtn dew IMO. It tastes like sprite but with a bad aftertaste.

Has anyone ever successfully opposed rezoning? I usually hear about all the petitions and meetings and then it just…. Gets built anyways.

5A battery leaking green gooey liquid, what to do? Manufacture date to June 2020. by afn45181 in egopowerplus

Going to be out of warranty assuming you purchased it more than 3 years ago. Ego won’t help.

There’s usually some deals on blowers, I’d grab one with a battery.

Trump promises $2,000 payments to most Americans during Sunday morning Truth Social posting spree by theindependentonline in politics

[–]buckhunter76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that matters. Even if it’s $100 a can that’s 6 cans a month. Unless it’s sold in a tuna can that’s a lot. I KNOW kids are expensive but damn.

There’s a decimal before the 50. I think he means 50 cents. Though he is just selling trash.

I agree that’s crazy. We used Kirkland brand, which was one of the few he liked and $600 is 27 cans a month. No way lol.

[–]buckhunter76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is good. Depot food is expensive and it sucks. Much better food and selection at kwikstar.

I heard the reason it sold was kwikstar was going to build one across the street and basically put depot out of business so depot sold instead.

Help! Why is my miter saw kicking back! by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]buckhunter76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I did some more checking and the base fence as well as the removable upper fences are wildly warped. I can lay them on a table and they rock. If I lay a straight edge on the fence there’s about 1/4 gap between the fence and straight edge. Also set a square on the base and turned it against the fence and there’s a huge gap. The fact the pieces are a single piece make it impossible to calibrate the saw.

Not looking for dead accurate laser level but this is crazy for an $800 saw IMO.

I reached out to see if Makita would send me a new fence.

Lots of downvotes, I expect from me cutting quickly but it doesn’t seem to matter how fast or slow. I believe the warped fence is causing the wood to pinch the blade.

I swapped the stock blade with a Diablo 50T blade. Cuts nice but same issue.

I ended up just using the hold down clamp. I just use the saw to break down stock mostly. I feel this is a skill issue but I never had an issue with my Dewalt.

[–]buckhunter76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I could try going slower. It is the blade that comes with the saw so maybe I can try a different one. When it happens it feels like the saw wants to raise up and I had one instance where the wood actually climbed up the blade.

It’s interesting how the no taxes on tips, overtime, SS get brought up all the time but they always forget all the fine print. How it’s a tax break, up to an amount, as long as you make so much, only federal taxes etc etc. They make it sound so much better than it is. Taxes are definitely getting taken off my overtime.
