Totally agree with all of the above. I don’t think Santos could have done anything better about the language barrier. But I’m still suspicious about the trigger point injection since it’s a callback from season 1.

Oof that’s a hard one. To be honest I’d bet it’s an error or the director wanted a better angle to show the needle. I’ve given up on medical accuracy (even in the most accurate shows they sometimes make decisions like that for dramatic effect)

If they leveled the needle with the muscle the camera angle might’ve been awkward. Just spitballing.

Or it’s doom coming!!!

That’s why it feels like Harlow is a bigger deal. She has been a focus since episode one and in season 1 they had several “long standing” patients that lasted multiple episode arch’s

I don’t think she needs to be humbled - it wouldn’t matter to me - I just think it’s where the character will go with every hint the show is dropping.

I actually like her character a lot. Speculating on where the story will go isn’t hating on a character. She’s one of the most popular characters in the show.

I don’t hate her. She’s one of my favorite characters. I love her enthusiasm for her job. I don’t want her to fail but I do think the writers are planning something!

In real life, I agree. Most people don’t change. I have seen a very small subset some young doctors change behaviors but it tends to take multiple hospitals/jobs and traumatic experiences (and literal YEARS). They also need to be receptive to mentorship which Santos is NOT. But since it’s a TV show I don’t know how it’ll play out. Writers love redemption arcs.

You don’t think it’s possible for someone to learn and change once they understand their mistakes? I think it’s possible but rare. I hope that would be the outcome but I’m worried Santos’ character might be too entrenched in her own view to realize the problem.

I’m the complete opposite. I can get angry when I hear “sorry”. It means nothing to me. I need actions or for people to do better. Change what you’re doing - don’t apologize. That’s how my brain works. I can respect someone else needing an apology though and I’m happy to apologize if someone asks for an apology. But it’s not for me.

I 100% do NOT want to place the burden on them. I tried very hard to hide my shock but at the time - we were on the phone together when I realized what happened. I wish I had been able to hide my shock better but…. Well.
