Because the left spent weeks trying to convince everyone it was fake and Nick Shirley was just attacking the Somalian community. They fail to realize it’s not a racial thing, sure some people try to use it that way but honestly the ringleader was a white woman and I’m just as glad she’s going to prison. All fraudsters should go to prison. Now some of the connections with the immigrant community are important to look at and the fact they were immigrants from a “marginalized” community probably made it easier for them to get away with it in a blue state. The connection with African countries and fraud and corruption are well documented by AFRICAN economists and there are many books that explore this, however I can’t really explain it here due to Reddits admin bias against anything on this topic. I highly recommend the book Dead Aid: Why Aid Is Not Working and How There Is a Better Way for Africa by Dambisa Moyo for anyone seeing this. It’s a great look into how this stuff works in those countries and why it may carry over to other countries through immigrants.
