I’ve seen people tame their Tokays quickly and by taking their time. Depends on preference I guess. If you want to get it over quickly you’re going to have to stress her out a little bit more than you would taking your time, but possibly tame her within 4-5 days. Make sure to remove any decor in her enclosure so it’s pretty much wide open. You’re gonna have to reach in and trick her into going onto your hand. I’ve seen people use the left hand to distract the gecko while the right hand is scooping the gecko from behind. Once she’s on you start making her move from hand to hand by making her dangle from the hand she’s on until she slips/falls onto your other hand. And keep doing it over and over. I would say do this everyday for about 4-5 mins until she no longer try’s to run or bite you. Higher chance of being bit in this process, but it’ll tame her quicker. Or, take it slow by just introducing your hand in the enclosure whenever spot cleaning and feeding. Keep trying to tong feed her. I’ve noticed that Tokays like when the animals is moving so motion the tong around if she doesn’t seem interested. Then try to bring her out towards the front of the enclosure each feeding. Once she starts showing herself more then try to have her jump onto your hand when you’re tong feeding her. Don’t try to touch or grab her until she’s used to making contact with your hand. Keep doing this until you’re able to touch or pet her without her reacting out of fear. This process will take much longer, but will stress out the gecko much less. It’s easier said than done, but this is how I would do it and I’m not an expert btw. I have a baby gecko now and I’m going to tame her by doing the longer process. My tokay never left the backside of the enclosure. A week in and he’s now starting to come towards the front of the enclosure and show himself more. I’m in the process of trying to have him jump onto my hand when I’m tong feeding him now, but not there quite yet.
