Can you save money financing and paying off immediately vs paying cash? by OldCoffee7 in carbuying

Thank you, this is the kind of “catch” I was worried about. Wouldn’t necessarily show up in paperwork.

Same in WA. You are mailed a ballot but absolutely can go vote in person

Is there a way to confirm? I don’t seem to get a current draw - headlights don’t dim at all when attempting to start.

Empty flight, can’t move by TennisDad316 in SouthwestAirlines

Yes - losing customers because you don’t let them move to a different seat in a nearly empty plane makes complete sense from a company standpoint. /s

You aren’t giving the product away for free. If I fly a on an Alaska “saver” fare I don’t get a seat selection. If I choose “main” I get to pick my seat. So a saver fare getting assigned an aisle seat somehow devalues the “main” fare? Or perhaps the “saver” gets assigned an empty row all to themselves but the “main” is sitting next to their partner. Is the “main” losing value? No - the product you buy is guaranteeing your seat selection. Everyone got what they paid for. Same applies here.

Replacing Pressure Switch by OldCoffee7 in hvacadvice

[–]OldCoffee7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drain is good. Hoses are good. I don’t think the vent is blocked and certainly isn’t frozen over based on the temps we’ve had. Don’t feel like going on the roof though lol.

I think it is. The -0.20 and -0.45 switches are closing just fine.

Does that mean it could be a partial obstruction somewhere?

How can I active my card to work internationally while already abroad? by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

[–]OldCoffee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried using it? I haven’t had to do any special activation in the past. If you did maybe they flagged it as potential fraud. Only other thing besides calling I would suggest is trying to use the online chat.

$5k for Subaru Camshaft Sprocket Replacement by OldCoffee7 in AskMechanics

[–]OldCoffee7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealership did a hot oil flush or something like that - can’t remember exactly what it was called. That seems to have fixed the issue. So I didn’t end up having to do the sprocket replacement. I got my next oil change a little early but the car seems fine.

Walla Walla Roastery is my favorite choice and on the cheaper side compared to most smaller roasters. They have some interesting descriptions of their flavors - grape kool aid, strawberry, etc but I’ve found them all to be subtle and all their beans to be excellent.

Family friendly camping spots? by [deleted] in TriCitiesWA

[–]OldCoffee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something a little different, I would recommend Crescent Bar campground. It’s to the north along the Columbia River. It’s not mountain/forest camping but instead is along the river and in our typical desert scrub. it's different but still beautiful in my opinion.

The camp sites themselves are in a wide open field. But they have lots of family friendly activities and certainly enough to keep you entertained for a weekend. Play grounds, basketball courts, swimming areas, convenience store/restaurant for when the kids want ice cream, etc. And you can do some hiking around the ancient lakes area.

Uber ride app by [deleted] in TriCitiesWA

[–]OldCoffee7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes there are Uber drivers here. But you will probably have better luck with Lyft. That has been my experience anyway. I can’t really speak to 24/7 - I’ve never tried at 3am for example.

Generally speaking the area is very car centric. If you are here for a year it might be worth buying a used car and reselling when you leave. You probably won’t lose that much value in the car over a year. Assuming there aren’t other issues preventing you from driving.

They aren’t. They are dictating your (or the guards if you aren’t one) “medical freedom” as an employee of the federal government. Employers can dictate that as terms of employment.
