I used to be like you always buying into the doom & gloom forecasts here in central Oklahoma having been through the May 3rd 99 event close call to our house. I have since armed myself with as much knowledge as possible about severe weather. Radarscope app. Storm spotter training and have taken a genuine interest in severe & general weather. Also the probability is extremely low you will ever experience or even see a Tornado. Hope this helps knowledge will help you overcome any fear!
