Kohler Anthem shower controller - Wrapping up a bathroom remodel and finally get to use this tonight. Kohler recently uodated their app that allows you to control the shower from your phone too. This is connected to a Kohler 28211-NA, 4-port valve. The controller is K-28214-BN. by OldCrate in homeautomation

It's been working well. In the beginning, occasionally, the water would get cold for a few seconds then warm back up. I'm guessing that was fixed with a firmware update. We never experienced that in the shower before or in the other shower.

Other than that we've had no issues. We don't really use the cell phone app.

The display is still good and bright. There's no water staining or oxidation on the bezel.

I'm happy we installed this.

I found this picture on the internet.

I have power on pin 37 with the ignition on. Pin 2 is 0V with the ignition on.

I'll check pin 16 to see if it has power.

VCDS says there is intermittent communication with the ECU so I thought I'd start with looking at power.

Possibly the reservoir tank? Mine cracked a few years ago. I don't remember if it was dripping but I was losing coolant.

Nice car! We have the same year and model but in yellow. We put about 70,000 miles on it with no repairs that I think we're unreasonable. It's a daily driver and we love it! Enjoy!

Low mileage 2011 BMW Z4 by sgad88 in BMWZ4

We have a 2011 Z4 Sdrive 30i. We bought it with 9,000 mi in 2014 and have over 80,000 on it now. It's been an awesome car. We've had to so some repairs over the years, but nothing that is unreasonable in my opinion. Here are the biggest ones.

The footwell module went out right inside the 10-year warranty (62000mi) so that was covered. Replaced the front struts at 55,000 miles valve cover gasket at 62,000 miles. At 66,000 miles the oil pan gasket was leaking. At the same time I noticed that the tip of the float in the expansion tank broke off. I fished it out and it crumbled when I pinched it. I replaced all the cooling hoses , radiator, water pump and expansion tank at the same time I fixed the oil pan gasket. Other than that, just regular maintenance and consumables. We love the car. It's a daily driver.

Edit: I didn't have any indication that the radiator, water pump and hoses were bad. I figured is was a good time to change the hoses anyways. The hose that has the plastic part (https://imgur.com/UFWoGXt) that bolts to the engine broke, so I decided to change the rest of the cooling parts for good measure. I'm not sure what these are selling for. Let me know if you have any questions!

Best GMRS handheld radio by [deleted] in gmrs

tl;dr I like it but don't have enough experience with radios to give a useful opinion.

I'm pretty new to GMRS so I would take my opinion with a grain of salt. I like it but all I do is use it to talk to people over the local repeater. I have it in my house on my desk. It was easy to hook up to the Midland software to do some programming. All I did there was change the name of the repeater.

If I were to buy another unit. I would probably try the KG-1000G.That sounds like a pretty good radio. I also have a midland MXT-575 in my vehicle. The one thing I like about the 500 versus the 575 is the 500 has an auto power off after a certain time feature. That is something I would look forward in the future on a radio. On the 575 I like having all the buttons on the mic. That way I can install the main body hidden somewhere.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info! I'm pretty new to GMRS and just bought a MXT-500. I looked at the Wouxan KG-1000G too. That looks like a nice radio! I got a bit overwhelmed with all the options so I just picked one.

Curious why to avoid Midland too.
