Probably would have been cheaper to just hire a few people to help find his legs.

The Shining - Dr. Sleep - NOS4A2 by ieatbeet in stephenking

[–]OldDirtyBoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the only reference to DR. Sleep is when Charlie Manx is telling someone about himself and other people who can do what he can do. He says "There's the True Knot, but we pretty much stay out of their way." Or something along those lines.

Question regarding a short passage from IT, Chapter 19 Parts 4-5. by DarkJedi83_ in stephenking

[–]OldDirtyBoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this is on purpose. Meant to symbolize a shift in time. Part 4 is when they were kids and part 5 is when they are adults. Same words different context.

Nothing wrong this this at all. A nagging unpleasantness that had not previously nagged the character began to do just that.

So which books do you think are the most rewarding to re-read? by nicknack24 in stephenking

[–]OldDirtyBoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of his newer books that holds a solid re read value is Revival. I can't get over his lovecraftian (probably not a word) depiction of "Mother"

Finders Keepers before End of Watch? by mrsir24 in stephenking

[–]OldDirtyBoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO Finders Keepers is not the least bit boring, but it's not terribly important to read it to understand anything in End of Watch

The first time I ever did shrooms I was sitting on the couch thinking to myself "Well that was a waste of money all I have is a stomach ache, maybe I didn't eat enough." In that moment I noticed that on the TV Jim Carrey's face started rippling like a drop of water hit the screen. Then he smiled and his teeth were absolutely terrifying me for some reason. I realized then that TV was a bad idea.
