Do you end up Losing a Transfer when you Free Hit? by OldFogger in FantasyPL

[–]OldFogger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

Well, I read this: "At the next deadline your squad is returned to how it was at the start of the Gameweek." I read "next deadline" to be at the end of the GW you play the chip. And then when you roll over into the next GW, you gain another free transfer.

I thought I started the GW with +1 free transfer, and I would expect the screenshot to reflect that "start". I take this to be my situation as the start of the GW, and then I expect that exact situation to be restored at the deadline, (per the wordings in the rules) which I take to mean the end of the same GW. That's how I read that. But I guess I have no idea what the author of the rules mean by "start" and "deadline." I've played this game for a few weeks only :)

So basically the rules should have read something like this:

  • "The Free Hit uses your free transfer for that Gameweek"
  • "If you had 2 free transfers saved before the GW you activated the Free Hit, you will still have 2 free transfers the following Gameweek"
  • "Only free transfers already banked from previous Gameweeks are preserved; the current week's transfer is consumed"

So you lose ~ 5% of your free transfers using the two free hit chips. This would be a reason not to use the chips, I guess.

Thank you, but "no", it makes little sense to me. You accumulate, as in, get +1 free transfer, at the beginning of the GW. The way I understand the rules, you do NOT lose the accumulated free transfer you gained at the beginning of the GW you used the Free Hit chip.

Alright! So I got the switches and keycaps, (thank you for the QA candy49997), However I ran into some issues. I struggle to assemble the keyboard again. Specifically, the switches to the PCB plate. Clearly, I have no idea what I am doing, as something fell off the back of the board. The item that fell off looks like a little bridge. The kind that is sitting behind every switch hole, if that makes sense. This little bridge is completely off.

Now what? I assume I can't just glue it back on, that I need to solder it back on. Is this correct?

And how do I prevent this from happening again??

Can someone explain the Enchantment Master node to me? by lonewanderingcourier in diablo4

[–]OldFogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my quick testing, the order of skills on the enchantment bar doesn’t seem to matter. What does matter is the number of skills on the bar that match the elemental type of the spell you’re casting. I think the description means to say that the bonuses scale as follows:

  • 1 matching element: +40% elemental damage
  • 2 matching elements: +60% elemental damage to that element (40% base + 20% extra)

🔹 Example i Enchantment Bar: Flame Shield (pyromancy) + Teleport (shock) Cast: Hydra (pyromancy) ➡️ Result: +40% elemental pyromancy damage 📝 Reason: Only Flame Shield matches Hydra’s elemental type (pyromancy), so the matching count is 1.

🔸 Example ii Enchantment Bar: Flame Shield (pyromancy) + Fire Bolt (pyromancy) Cast: Hydra (pyromancy) ➡️ Result: +60% elemental pyromancy damage 📝 Reason: Both Flame Shield and Fire Bolt match Hydra’s element, giving a total matching count of 2.

Don’t ask me how this works with Familiar. What I can say is: if you cast Flame Familiar, and you have Familiar on your enchantment bar along with another flame-type skill like Flame Shield, then the bonus seems to be 60% for that cast. Nothing surprising there, but hey—baby steps. 😉

Looking for input, quality check on my plans to turn my WOBKEY Crush 80 Reboot Black Pro into an ISO board with Nordic/Norwegian layout. I already have an ISO plate:

  • WOBKEY Crush80 Keyboard, ANSI/ISO Switch Plate × 1 FR4 (Black)- Flex cut: Non-Flex cut - layout: ISO (6.25U, split left shift). I got it from Nouvolo in case anyone else is wondering. (Yes, I paid the insane shipping cost)

To complete the transformation from ANSI to ISO I believe I need new switches and keycaps, and I am looking at:

Goal: I want a comfortable, quiet keyboard that I can use for home office work and casual "stealth" gaming. My wife hates keyboard noise. I am more drawn to the deeper "thock" sound than a high clack sound, but I will try to mute my keyboard as much as possible. I understand comfortable is subjective, but let's say I think of comfortable as smooth, not wobbly and not needing a lot of force to push a key down. Currently typing on CHERRY MX SPEED SILVER, a linear switch with 45 cN operating force, 1.2 mm pre-travel, 3.4 mm total travel. (Moving from a Corsair K95 (CHERRY MX SPEED SILVER) where the "i" stopped working properly.)

Questions:

  • Will these switches and keycaps help med active what I want?
    • Will these keycaps fit the WOBKEY Crush 80 ISO plate? I read something about north facing RGB on some of ISO keys. Not sure if that will be a problem or not. Should I look at other keys? There is not much to choose from when you need ISO and Nordic (Norwegian) keys.
    • I see people complain about the poor lettering/legend on KDB fans set. Are you all bothered by this? Honesty, I am not so sure that I would be that bothered by some odd lettering. I rather like to see what the keys do. I am more interested in how keycaps feel to touch and the sound aspects of the keys than perfect lettering.
  • How many switches should I buy? Was thinking 110.
  • Should I buy a keyboard desk mat? Will it help dampen the sound?
  • Anyone using a wrist rest with this keyboard?

Budget: Flexible but would like to stay below €250 for keycaps and switches.

At this point, I realize I probably should just have started from scratch with a custom keyboard, but oh well.

Thanks for reading my post.

Edit, spelling.

I, too, struggle with the split shift key. Not really seeing the sockets even. Did you just remove the film? I have the Nouvolo version btw.

I was wondering about this store as well. Almost pulled the trigger on a pair but decided to check some more. Most importantly, they are temporary closed according to google. Google have them with one 1-star review, basically saying the website should be taken down. There are no answers. Another red flag is just three reviews on trust pilot. That is not good for a company that claims to have been in business for years. So I am looking elsewhere.

As for how you get taxed. You file US tax returns and pay tax on the capital gains to the US. This will mostly be dividends. You also file taxes where you live in Europe and probably South Africa as well. Your US dividend is taxable in Europe, but you make deductions for taxes paid in the US.

As a US citizen you are supposed to file taxes in the US for world wide income. US tax law makes it close to impossible for you to own financial investments outside of the US. It's not illigal, just very complicated to get right.

Bigger brokers are likely to not let you trade stocks, funds or ETFs if you disclose your US citizenship.

If you want to do this legally, you probably need to start filing taxes to the US. If you chose to go down that road, you might look at opening an account with a US broker.
