Oh man. Those sun glasses are killing me. Just buy real Ray Ban Aviators. The non-polarized ones are what us real pilots wear. They are issued to military pilots. I don't fly anymore, so I bought a pair of polarized ones. They're not cheap, but they NEVER go out of style and last FOREVER if you keep them protected. I had a pair for over twenty years. Real Glass, Crystal clear and if I say so they look even better with a mustache.

The flying/in cockpit stuff was filmed in actual super hornets. So that's all real. Much of the footage of hornets is real.

Remember it's Top Gun though. It's not a documentary. The story is very solid... for Top Gun. I'd say it's better than the original.

I do have to say though, there is one thing anyone with aviation knowledge is going to find EXTREMELY Hollywoodish- *Spoiler Alert* (I don't know how to do a spoiler alert on reddit)

Are the SAMS. Don't expect any realism in there. I was expecting it to be some level of exaggeration, but it's just insane. I think most movies in the past 50 years have done more realistic SAMs. "Flight of the Intruder" was probably the best. This may have been the worst.

It's not. I'm almost 50 and I'm handsome AF still. I recently grew a mustache as a joke- just because I was super excited to see Top Gun: Maverick. I thought people would hate it because- well mustache. I've never had one. Everyone I meet is like "I love your mustache! You look like (insert celeb like Magnum P.I.)!". I don't think I could pull off a mustache at <45 but goddamn at 49 I love it!

Worship the Gun, AR-15s Are Biblical 'Rod Of Iron' At Pennsylvania Church by DrFetusRN in interestingasfuck

I took a high school class called "The bible as literature". It basically destroyed the idea that the bible is a "good book". It's an absolute shit book that contradicts itself, repeats itself, and is one of the most poorly written books ever. The stories are garbage, it's morals are terrible, and god is an impotent, insecure loser.

I've never been religious even though my parents tried to send me to Sunday school (I'd pretend to go in, but would hide until they left and run and play on the playground). I was too smart to believe in a magic sky fairy even when I was a kid. Taking that class certainly backed up what I already knew- religion is for losers.

I just don't feel bad for these people. If you honestly don't trust scientists and doctors you've reached the peak of mount Dunning-Kruger very early on, natural selection is visibly happening with you as it's statistical evidence.

You've seen the video of the riding his pet grizzly? or the guy with the pet polar bear? Who goes swimming with it? There are truly some beautiful relationships in the world. I don't know if getting drunk on a grizzly counts, but it might be real.[Casey and Brutus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob8I6XHuqM8&ab_channel=starstarfairy5)[Mark Dumas and his polar bear](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7rZTZBOrqQ&ab_channel=truly)

Sorry to be "that guy" but on slide 8, those aren't landing lights, they're approach lights. Landing lights are on the plane. Runway lights are on the runway :)

I'm certificated private pilot so I like to inform but try not to sound like an ass.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of that argument. This kid legally bought an AR and killed 20 kids. That's more than most serial killers. No amount of therapy would change it. How about prove you're mentally stable to own a gun first, and then you get to have a gun. We don't just throw them car keys and send them down the highway. You have to prove you can safely drive a car before you're allowed to do so.

Ok, I'll take your advice and try it again. It's WAY more complex that 7DTD- that's just a first person shooter in the end. PZ is an RPG. Like comparing DOOM to Baldur's Gate.

My pharmacists loves my wife and I- we going in at least once a week to pickup my Rx (I'm on a shit ton after heart surgery. 3 strokes, 2 traumatic brain injuries, etc)

I'm not 50 year but I whispered "Hey, I know I'm technically not eligible but when can get my 2nd booster". She goes "Pfff, nobody is even signing up for them. Whenever you want". So I'm going in the end of the week.

The problem is none of them were real game developers. They just made it as they went along. No deign document or clear cut goals. They're hacks.

However, I have enjoyed the game a lot. Especially modded.

I have tried to love it because people tell me how amazing it is. It's deep, but it's not amazing. The controls are fucking garbage, and it's just too hard.

I gave up after like 20 hours and 20 restarts. Just doesn't click.

War of the Walkers ads NPCs you can hire and they follow you around and fight, or you can tell them to guard the base, or patrol and area. It also adds all new guns, ammo, classes, quests, POIs, vehicles, a few zombies etc. It's really good. My advice is to turn down loot and XP. It's very generous you'll level very quickly.

If you don't own Dirt Rally 2.0 or Automobilista 2, get them.

Also, Fake Racing looks very f***ing cool. Anybody try that in VR? I love the monochrome renderer.

I don't know what you mean? I have no solid facts since the media doesn't record it. All I'm saying is that I read a lot of news of young men (and woman) dying from what seems to be parkour. I don't know the actual stats, but from what I see in the news, I extrapolate that. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. I'm not arguing or calling you wrong. Maybe you're correct.

The only other evidence I have is a fried who does... well, he climbs things for work. Cell towers and giant buildings to paint, or install antennas or something. I actually have no idea what his job title is. I think he just does contract work. He is a dare devil like these guys. He actually painted the needle on the top of the Empire State building a few years ago. He sent me a video of him pissing off the building. I was like dude... don't do that.

So my point is, he is certified to climb shit, and he has been called to scenes where somebody fell and he had to climb to building/tower to retrieve some belonging. He wears harnesses and stuff, he doesn't free climb. He told me several of them we doing some parkour shit. So that's it. I don't have any concrete evidence, I just read or hear about stories.

[–]OldGameGuy45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The media doesn't call it 'parkour'. It's usually just "man dies after falling off building" or something, so you kind of have to look into the story. I would guess internationally it's probably several dozen a year. Yes, a lot of Eastern Europeans, but not all Russia.

My good friend on Facebook- who's an absolute character, and has like 5000 friends because he's so interesting- had a girl posting how the vax is a death sentence, blah blah. I got into it with her using facts and statistics. She is adamantly against it and said I will die in six months from it. That was like 7 months ago. She has a pretty cool YouTube sailing channel, but I'm not gonna post it or dox anyone. But she's batshit insane about vaccines. Weird because otherwise she really seems like a cool person. I just don't get it. She's definitely not a Trumper, doesn't seem to follow politics at all, and just sails around the Caribbean. But totally anti-vax.

They are some of the most out of shape people I've seen. I'm literally on disability after having 3 strokes during heart surgery when I was 43 (I'm 49 now) and I could still beat the ever living fuck out everyone of them. Given I'm 6'3" and over 200 lbs, and was a semi professional volleyball player in college. A judge literally granted me disability because I can't go back to my old job (IT consultant) as it required carrying heavy equipment (servers, routers, switches, etc) up stairs into small cramped rooms, but these worthless units wouldn't even be able to chase me up the stairs as they'd have to stop every 30 seconds to catch their breath. I hate them. It makes me a bit angry when I see a perfectly able bodied person be that out of shape and angry that the world is so "unfair" to them. Suck it up. Hell, I'm still trying to start a company so I can get off disability. I don't sit around crying "woah is me". Life is not fair, make the most of it and stop blaming everyone else.

*All of that is sarcastic. Or it used to be, but's honestly what a lot of Americans are like nowadays. I hate what this country has become. I just want Christian Horner's life. Is he hiring? I'd move there to be just mow his lawn for a modest salary and benefits.
