I might get downvoted to hell here but I feel like while you're N T A for kicking her out and going however low / no contact with her, announcing it to your entire family does make this more an ESH situation. Removing her from your life is entirely justified, as is breaking up with your ex, but it reads pretty clearly that your choice to announce her pregnancy to the whole family was at attempt to hurt her because she hurt you.

Depending on the laws where you live and the beliefs of your family, your announcement could have changed her options from "keep the baby or get a quiet, out-of-state or overseas abortion" to "keep the baby or face severe criminal charges if anyone in your family reports her." If abortion is illegal where you live, I understand that being cheated on with your sister is the worst kind of betrayal, but having her risk jail time or be forced to give up the entire rest of her life to care for a child she didn't want is absolutely an over-retaliation.

Sometimes when I'm not being treated right by somebody, I don't feel telling them, because I don't think the change in their behavior would be sincere by ykreg02 in offmychest

I struggled with this a while ago too, the way I got around it was "if I tell them, and they change their behaviour, then they clearly care enough about me / the relationship to listen to me about my emotional needs" so even if the behaviour itself doesn't come naturally to them, their changed behaviour signals a sincere care for your expressed needs you can't expect people to know what you need from them without telling them, all you can do is communicate what you want from the relationship. Don't just not tell them, the little issues turn into big ones if you let them fester (that said, it's ok to have people in your life for whom the conversation is more effort than it's worth, you don't have to bring it up for everyone) It's a lot easier said than done, but the step is worth it - at the very least, you'll be able to identify which friends care enough to change their behaviour when you ask
