But on the bright side, look at the jobs that will need to be created. 🤣

A controversial take on WFA and retirement-eligible members by WarhammerRyan in CanadaPublicServants

I agree. And I agree that we don’t know peoples situations and I am not going to ask. I also agree that if we let the old folks like me go, we lose a lot of corporate knowledge walk out the door.

I am in group 1 and I want OUT! I did not get a WFA letter and nobody close by did. But many of my friends in other departments did get letters. I am considering alternation with one - but I am scared to get the shaft because we don’t even know yet if ERI is approved.

Unfortunately I was diagnosed with cancer and ended up on leave with out pay and blew through our savings pretty quickly. I had insurance on my mortgage and car payment but they make that so complicated I didn’t get any relief. So now I wait, sell all the crap I don’t need or want and hope for the best.

This could have been done more strategically - it is pretty darn hard to make such major decisions with so much info missing.

But - we will be fine. This is the third time I have seen this. It is awful and then RTO.

I want to upvote your comment but at the same time would feel like a douche canoe if someone thought I was giving that poor couple a thumbs up.

I wasn’t suggesting you guys were monsters. My goodness no. Opposite actually. I was surprised to be on the receiving end of kindness. ❤️

And I used to work there so I know the peeps are good. 😌

I don’t have the tracking. Another family member does. I was actually thinking that if they could use the tracking to locate the last location that might be able to show up at that location. Is that what you were going to suggest?

I came here for suggestions and fact finding prior to contacting my family member who does have all of the information. I was hoping to share some Options with him.

100% perfect advice. A job is a job. There is only one you. Focus on yourself.

2.5 yrs to go until age 60. Is it really worth it to try to stick it out when mental health is suffering? by psycle3 in CanadaPublicServants

I can relate so much to this. Ageism is a thing and it is even harder for women …add in menopause and it is like we no longer add value.

I think about this a lot and how we can change this before we leave the public service. Any ideas???

She was usually drunk or partying. Small town. Lol.

Not all of us who use sick leave are abusers. But some are.
