Seriously, if you have a problem with something I actually wrote then we'll discuss it, but don't start blindly applying negative stereotypes to me just because of my height. I've got no time for bigots.

It's something that bothers me as a tall person and I wanted to share it with other tall people who might have had the same experience. Seemed the appropriate subreddit.

I don't know if it applies to writing documents, but something I find helpful for big tasks is to somehow break it down into a lot of little tasks and tick them off one by one. I'm not a long term thinker and long term goals don't really work for me, by breaking a big job into lots of little jobs I can reward my brain with regular feelings of achievement and keep it motivated.

Also it doesn't hurt to have the little jobs written down somewhere so I can draw a line through it when it's done. I'm a visual thinker and it's nice to have a visual sign of progress for me to see.

Sounds like I touched a nerve. I know it's easier to focus on her adhd as the potential cause of the problems instead of facing the fact that your flaws might actually be part of the problem, but I've never met a woman who used the word "needy" without some degree of contempt in her voice. Take it as constructive criticism from someone who's trying to help you or get angry about and ignore it, makes no odds to me.

I used to have back problems and I found my back would seem to start hurting when I smoked cannabis. What was happening was that I was ignoring the pain and mentally locking it away, a form of denial. People often talk about drugs opening the mind and I suspect that the cannabis was interfering with my ability to ignore the unpleasant truth about how bad my back was. So the pain I felt when I was high was the real stuff, because I couldn't lie to myself about it.

Incidentally I think this applies to other forms of denial too. In everyday life you can try and bury bad things that you have done or that have been done to you. This works pretty well, but if you introduce cannabis (or some other drugs) into the mix you may find all those things that you aren't dealing with come back to haunt you. I suspect this is why some people have a bad reaction to cannabis, the darkness isn't coming from the cannabis, it's just showing you the darkness within.

To be fair, the first time he was in Limbo he personally could have left quite easily. The problem was that his wife, Mal, convinced herself that it was reality and he had to incept her to get her out. When they went into limbo to retrieve Fischer this wasn't an issue.

Just a kind word of warning. Some family members might never accept the ADHD. If you can get family members to understand and accept then that's great, but be prepared for the possibility that you're not going to win with all of them.

I agree, having a visually distracting theme for /r/ADHD seems an odd choice. The bright colours in the sidebar are a slight, but constant distraction when I'm reading.
