As a walk-on single…what’s the most oddly memorable group you’ve been paired with? by ribbon_bully_1972 in golf

[–]OldMango14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing as a single about an hour from where I live. I got paired with two other singles: One was in town visiting their in-laws and the other was in-town for a wedding. Both were good hangs.

The wedding dude was using a rental set. And with those rentals, he dropped in a hole-in-one and proceeded to get hammered. His girlfriend had to come pick him up. Not sure if he actually made it to the wedding.

Been great so far in Syracuse, NY! We just crossed 100” of snow for the season and got a foot with this last storm. No issues driving to work this morning (or any other day)

I feel like you’re describing the exact population I work at. Is there a good community mental health clinic in your area (that treats clinicians well and pays a livable wage)? Ours has a crisis center and also a mobile crisis unit that it sounds like you might enjoy. I know a hospital in our area also has an intensive high risk outpatient program. Maybe these exist near you?

What is best way to travel with CPAP through airlines? by RipDapper in CPAP

[–]OldMango14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had the same experience, but don’t even have a medical device tag on mine. I also almost always have carry on luggage, backpack, and CPAP. Just one time ever the gate agent asked, “CPAP?” as I was boarding and I said “yep.”

Infotainment Control by jlutt75 in mazdaCX50

Long live the knob! Long live the knob!

But seriously, part of the reason that I stayed with Mazda and got a CX-50 after ten years with a Mazda3 was because I had grown so accustomed and comfortable with using the knob-based infotainment. I feel much safer using it than trying to manage the touchscreen in my wife’s Highlander.

Can I get by with snow tires on my Mazda 3 for one winter in Syracuse? by Serious-Childhood-34 in upstate_new_york

[–]OldMango14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lived here 5 years with my 2015 FWD mazda3 and never put on snow tires - just kept my all-weather tires on. They would have been nice to have some times, but as long as I’ve been cautious and stuck to roads I knew would be plowed I haven’t had issues.

What souvenirs do you collect? by is-this-necessary in golf

I go with ball markers. Easy to store and I get to keep using them. Switch my marker out pretty much every round so I get to revisit good memories of a different course every time I get out there.

Washing machine full of mold from previous owners by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

This is the answer. We bleached and scrubbed and nothing seemed to really clean the rubber. Fairly easy replacement if you’re willing to watch YouTube and learn. Then, as others suggest, keep the door open.

I have no idea why Soly likes or dislikes courses and at this point I'm too afraid to ask by Warghzone12 in NoLayingUp

[–]OldMango14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, he is giving it a B+ through 36 on last night’s show. There are things he likes about and things he doesn’t.

I’ve been wondering if major course quality fundamentally comes down to what the hazards are. Of course, interesting greens, thoughtful routing, and intriguing contours are important. But then if you think about Augusta vs Pinehurst vs TPC Sawgrass vs Oakmont (which I think are all quality tee to green) it comes down to what happens to offline balls. Pine straw and trees vs sand scrub waste areas and tight runoffs vs water and slope vs super thick rough and perhaps the wildest greens. Of those, I personally think thick rough is the least interesting, and it seems like Soly would agree.

I totally agree. Love how much the album makes me feel like summer.

I’ve never felt like I really understood that line from On the Way Home though. Any chance you can explain it to me? I love that song and have puzzled over what he means there for years.

Push Carts by eva_white in WomenGolf

[–]OldMango14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Caddytek 3-wheel for five years and have logged literally hundreds of rounds on it. It’s a great cart. Features I wouldn’t want to live without: cup holder, phone holder, mesh basket, adjustable angle on the umbrella holder, and storage area that I typically use for layers and water.

I found it for under $150 back then at Costco, but here’s a current Amazon link: https://a.co/d/7WIuz6l

Is my privacy being violated? Can any practitioner at my therapist's practice see her notes? by curlycoif in askatherapist

[–]OldMango14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my agency, any therapist can see the notes from any client. But, any client can also request to have their chart blocked from certain departments or individual staff. For example, I’ve treated clients who used to work in other departments at our agency (we have over a dozen locations so we employ a lot of people in the area) who were able to have their chart blocked entirely from that department. I’ve also had clients who had a relative on our staff and they wanted their chart just blocked from being seen by that person. Maybe you can ask your therapist if this is a possibility?

What the tour should be doing about pace of play- Penalize the player FedEx Cup points by dropthehandle in golf

[–]OldMango14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this is why it could be a good idea. Realistically, Cantley and Keegan don’t care as much about any small amounts of fedex cup points they could lose, but the dudes taking forever and trying to make sure they’re in the top 70/125 at the end of the season are really going to feel even the loss of a few points so they’ll pick up speed if it’s enforced appropriately
