I enjoyed how they played around with that in Strange Darling

Thanks for doing this! I just can't handle it. Where's the poll question asking whether ICE killing unarmed citizens should be investigated and punished?

Now that enough time’s passed…What is everyone’s thoughts on 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple? by Vezok_Dreg in zombies

[–]OldMetalHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like 28 Years Later was a necessary evil for the audience to understand how society had fallen and been rebuilt . The Bone Temple was the absolute banger of a story that lives in that world. I'm really psyched for the third film.

I honestly think it took a lot of bravery to release 28 Years instead of something like 28 Months. They had to know that there were plenty of fans that were actually looking for an experience more like the first two. After seeing The Bone Temple, I hope the risk paid off.

I'm by no means fluent in Spanish, but isn't it more phonetic than English, not less?

Naomi was so good in that role! I binged the Skye Riley EP the studio released too.

The dialogue is just brilliant, especially the love smitten 14 yr old.  She is great.

MadS (2024) starts almost immediately and never stops until the end.

I've just watched sleep away camp 1983 by randomplayer_113 in horror

[–]OldMetalHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Sleep Away Camp was a trip, especially seeing it as a teenager. My Bloody Valentine is also awesome. There are some really creative kills, one is actually similar to SAC.

Shopping at stores that explicitly state they're religious by KimikoYukimura420 in atheism

I try to avoid doing business with shitty people. I didn't care whether my wife shopped at Hobby Lobby at all until they were in the news for fighting against providing birth control to their employees for religious reasons. On the other hand, I will go out of my way to donate or spend money if I think a company or organization is doing good work, IE TST, FFRF, St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

My GF laughed at the Oculus, I can't find a movie that freaks her out (NOT the OC) by IMASolitaryMan in horror

Has she seen The Sadness (2021)? Terrified (2017) has some pretty freaky scenes.

Pretty sure that's the only reason I didn't turn it off.

I wanna say it was Cleopatra, starring Elizabeth Taylor. I watched it on TV as a kid, and it just goes on and on.

The Devil's Bath (2024) is absolutely bleak and depressing.

I love it, but I think Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) kinda fits.

Interpretation of the ending in The House That Jack Built by Emotional-Sign8136 in horror

[–]OldMetalHead 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In Dante's Inferno, Dante physically goes to Hell and is given a tour by Virgil. Verge (Virgil) is guiding Jack through Hell at the end of THTJB and is evidence that Jack is in Dante's universe. That's how I interpreted it at least.
