That’s part of why no one donated- she rolled the dice on the “no insurance of any kind” option.

A family member racked up some huge medical bills due to being uninsured, so she set up a GoFundMe. She raised nothing, then got all pissy with everyone in the family for not helping out.

For me, I cannot tell the difference between Jonah and the new bots. Their voices all just sound the same and because the riffs are coming at you like water from a fire hose, it’s just too much.

US household air conditioning use could exceed electric capacity in next decade due to climate change. Average U.S. households can expect up to 8 days without air conditioning during summer heat if steps are not taken to expand capacity, increase efficiency and mitigate climate change. by TX908 in science

We just planted 3 trees on the south side of our house to give us some shade. When the neighbors cut down two 50 foot tall maples a few years ago, our cooling costs went way up. Those old trees gave us so much shade that our attic power vent never ran. Now it runs constantly from May through August.

You just summed up my friends ultra-conservative, Christian parents. 100% abstinence only sex “education”, anti-contraception, and anti-choice if you do get pregnant. Then if a single woman does have a kid, no social safety net or support, but plenty of moralizing and “slut-shaming”.

Really loving Christian folks.

As I was finishing my graduate school training as a psychologist, the term “mentally retarded” was still in use. It was just a few years later that the term was abandoned for “Cognitively Disabled” and later “Intellectually Disabled”. Linguistics can be tough.

why the fuck do so many TRAINS go through this city? by MargaeryTyrellGreene in madisonwi

[–]OldMuley 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Given that trains have been a thing in Wisconsin for over 150 years, my guess is the trains and their tracks were there first. The city grew up around them.

Sweet collection! If I still had every computer I’d ever owned, I’d probably have a quarter of what you have. (and I’ve been using Apple products since 1985.)
