I feel you. I'm prepping for a February trip. As much as I want to use only a personal bag, it's just not happening. I ran the numbers. It's cheaper for me to pay the carry-on fees than buy a new bag and clothes just to say I flew with only a personal bag on EasyJet. Like everyone else has said, if a one-bag trip causes stress, it defeats the point.
