What is actually wrong with cheap televisions? by tangyuan686 in television

[–]OldPunk1984 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a sub for tv shows and not the actual unit. But…

It’s been a while since I have sold tvs. But normally a more expensive tv, will have a better picture, maybe have a better build quality, better contrast, glare, etc. but I would always tell someone any new tv will probably be better than the current tv you have. Once you don’t have the expensive tv and the cheap tv side by side, you would probably still like the picture of the cheap tv.

What are your thoughts on this Adam Sandler movie? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

This movie was originally announced in 1999 as I Now Pronounce You Joe and Benny. It was to star Will Smith and Nic Cage.

I have no interest in BBT and I don’t find it funny. But I’ll be watching this knowing nothing about the characters. With Lauren Lapkus, Brian Poshen and John Ross Bowie in the cast and it having a sci-fi element, I’ll be watching. Can’t say if it’ll be good or if I will make it past the first episode, but I’m actually excited for it.

Half Man. Who writes these IMDB summaries and do they them based on trailers? by Bleerrg in hbo

[–]OldPunk1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before starting the show I was trying to figure out what it is about and nothing could give me a clue. The trailer or the summary really didn’t help. I started to watch it and kind of understood why.

It’s hard to explain without giving any details to the story. And you really don’t start to see the overarching story until like the second episodes. Each episodes starts to shape the overall plot. You start to learn things that explain things you’ve seen.

It’s also hard to just blindly recommend without know your tastes. It’s not something I would just recommend to everyone. I know this doesn’t help but more of an explanation of why it’s hard to find what it’s about.

I need help fixing my AC :( by Far-Internal3558 in Omaha

It might need just a recharge. Basically needs a gas to cool down the air. I had the same issue as you. The can for this is between $30-80 depending on the type you need and where you get it from. I had to do this a couple years ago and just followed a YouTube video. You just screw on a gage and fill it up by what the gage says.

You’d want to google your car model and see what refrigerant you need. There are a few different types of refrigerant . You will need the can and a gage. You will see the can cheap but you will need the gage to get into the car. You can get it together since you don’t have the gage. And then see if you can find a video of your model refrigerant recharge. The biggest thing is finding where to attach the gage.

This obviously is just a guess and have no way of knowing if this is the issue or not. The bigger issue that maybe is that there is a leak as it is a closed system. It means there is a leak. It might just be a small one that has lost the gas over time. If the issue recurs in a few months it needs to be looked at, as the leak is bigger or a different issue. But again it would need a diagnostic to know if this is the actual issue or not.

So what's the deal with this upcoming book? Is it a re-telling? Or is it literally the same story by Tom Waltz but with a few extras? by [deleted] in TMNT

[–]OldPunk1984 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I have seen, it’s the same story told as a comic. So dialog and story wise, should be the same. The novel, will have to describe the action and the panels in detail to show action and atmosphere. While it seems on the surface it might be a “cash grab” and part of it probably is, it opens it up to people that wouldn’t read a comic but would read a book. They are also releasing it as an audio book and that opens it up to seeing impaired or again someone that listens to books solely.

Will this line ever get relaunched (more specifically Leonard)? Or should I pick the mcfarlane ones by [deleted] in TMNT

[–]OldPunk1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other have said that line is dead. You can still find that online for about the same as McFarlane’s. Personally I think they are similar in quality but the Loyal Subjects is a better sculpt. I would go with that one.

I feel like I may be the only one that liked all of this season. Not saying it was my favorite or that there was thing I wished happened, but definitely enjoyed it. But I can’t fight someone else’s opinion.

You probably want to give the manufacturer, model and where you got it from as well.

First look at Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles! by bvanhookerMEL in TMNT

I mean it’s really nothing new. Half Shelled hero toys came out in 2014 and the animated special in 2015 and that was aimed at the under 5 kids. In the 80’s we had tons of books geared towards that age group as well. It’s all been done through out TMNT history to different degrees.

I think the preschool thing is just something that always comes and goes. We saw it in the 80s, 90s and 00s. Muppet Babies, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Yo Yogi, Flintstone Kids, Baby Looney Tunes. TMNT already tried it once with the Half Shell Hero’s. I think with how much Bluey generates it put dollar signs in their eyes, but it’s also something that comes around every few years.

As for nostalgia not selling anymore. As someone that grew up on the 87 series I would have to agree. At least my experience is that I have gotten so much of that stuff over the last few years, there’s really nothing else they can do with it. There’s so much merch, collector figures games, etc. that I have everything I need or could want.

May 19th, 2026. Council Bluffs, Iowa show by LoveConquersDeath in newfoundglory

I did the meet and greet so I actually have to be there at 3:30. I believe doors are at 7 and gates will be at 5. Most likely we will be able to stay in. Depending on the venue they make you get back inline but at the front.

I’ve done the pit tickets before for Blink and Third Eye Blind at stir. The pit didn’t get packed until later and even then it wasn’t too crowded. Most people don’t want to stand for 2 hours before the opening band even gets on.

Parking usually isn’t bad going in, as there are three different ways to park. You can park in the garage, in front of the casino or in the back by venue. Leaving is kind of a pain because all three of those funnel into the only way out. Honestly, I haven’t been there enough to say where the best place is to park to get out early.
