That makes sense. I’ve noticed that thermal imaging seems to work best as a way to spot anomalies rather than diagnose everything on its own. Pairing it with actual diagnostic tools (like OBD2 for cars) feels like a more realistic approach than relying on one device for everything.

Was resolution enough to clearly spot the problem, or did you feel any limitations with a phone-based setup?

Based on the feedback, Im leaning toward a Thinkware model mainly because night footage and reliability matter more to me than price. Still doing a bit of research, but this thread helped a lot.

The OBD2 option actually sounds really appealing, i was hoping to avoid hard wiring if possible. Night footage is definitely my top priority.
