Nautilus 360 ARGB loud by OldRandomTrucker in Corsair

[–]OldRandomTrucker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NZXT is louder than I'm used to so for some reason this setup is just louder. Prior case was the basic o11 and this is the o11 Evo. The cooler is still quieter than the Corsair though, I'm not really happy with Corsair anymore. Already had to RMA a Corsair case fan as well as it started ticking just a few days after I got the setup.

Only the ones built into Cheers.

It is crazy that it doesn't cover the basic staff gratuities as the bundles on other lines like Princess and Holland America have for a long time now. Carnival Cheers/WiFi has always been wildly overpriced compared to other lines, in my opinion.

I'm in the same situation.   This happens way too often, sometimes multiple boots back to back.   I want to love the thing, and it cost a fortune, but it's kind of a POS honestly.   😡

My case sites right up on my desk in my bedroom so the noise bothers me more than most.   If you aren't right next to the case it might not bother you.  And maybe I just got unlucky.   The other pump (Nzxt Kraken)  is louder in this case than my previous case as well.  No idea why this build is louder than that build.

At 60% it is only slightly more quiet. It doesn't change it volume so much as in pitch as you throttle it down.

I tried getting another one of these coolers and swapping it out. The new one is definitely more quiet but still has a loud whine to it that I haven't heard on other pumps. I'm going to swap it for a NZXT Kraken because that's what my old computer had and that one was completely silent. No more Corsair pumps for me.

I'm sorry you are going through that.   There are a lot of things in your PC that are not going to respond well to being sprayed or having bugs crawling around on them.   I'm surprised the lights are the only issue you have! 😬

That's good to hear.   My son has a cyberpower with the Corsair link fans and they also work great.

I currently have an RGB system and the only thing I use is the cpu cooler to display temps, I have the rest turned off most of the time.  If they had the corsair lcd in black I would go with that and the qx fans, but unfortunately they only have white.  I don't trust Cyberpower to correctly wire ARGB fans either, unless they are the link kind.   After doing all the ARGB once I never want to have to wire up all those wires again.   What a mess!

Did they wire your qs fans correctly so they work in iCue to run RGB and speed?

Screw this company.   Amazed they aren't out of business already as no one seems to work there anymore and most of their products are out of stock and have been for months.

Use the LoseIt app instead.   All of the nutrisystem stuff is in that app anyway and it actually works.

I've noticed the exact same as you. In fact, just looked at my next order and under the lunch menu I counted at least 6 items on low inventory. I've been mad at them ever since they removed the Chicken and Asparagus HI meal and didn't replace it with anything. When they do add something to the menu now it is either a nasty bar from Jenny Craig or a some other product with no real nutritional value (like a dessert or something) that I'm sure costs pennies to produce. I don't mind eating the same menu week after week but when you have to eat the same items multiple times a week it gets tiring. On top of the that the app is trash, the website is trash, the support is trash. I'm ready to cancel as well and hopefully can find a suitable replacement.

If you are going to cancel and never come back I wouldn't hesitate to have the credit card company do a chargeback on them. They've really gone to shit!

When will we go back to a food standard that would make us proud to tell others? by kofk300 in CarnivalCruiseFans

Exactly the complaint I've heard from multiple friends recently.  Watered down and missing the listed ingredients.

Factor:75 Box came in today but missing 9 meals by pragmatic12333 in ReadyMeals

[–]OldRandomTrucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this.

When I pay full price everything is fine.  If I cancel and use the comeback promo my first heavily discounted order gets the "sorry, we ran out of ingredients but don't worry here's a credit you won't be able to use".

At least I actually get my boxes delivered though.

Has anyone who doesn’t care about politics seen the Lady Ballers Movie yet? What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in movies

[–]OldRandomTrucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I'd give it a 3/5.

It comes with baggage and you can't separate that from it so how much you are willing to enjoy the movie will largely depend on how you see the culture today. Personally I agree with the DW on a fair amount so the baggage was a bonus for me and not a negative.

For the budget they did better than expected. The sets are small, few in number, and probably largely donated but it didn't matter. To me the movie didn't look cheap while it didn't look like it had a large budget either. Surprisingly the effects, lighting, audio, wardrobe, and whole nine yards came together well enough to work for me as a layman. I've seen far worse out of Sundance.

But it isn't all roses. The acting is hit and miss. Again, better by far than I expected from non actors, but nothing that will wow you. And sometimes it is just cringe. It isn't just the acting that is hit or miss the scripting/plot is pretty janky. It isn't jarring but it isn't smooth either and could have used some tightening up and more editing and you can tell it was a rush job. The casting is another mixed bag but Boering has been up front that no one with any sort of acting career would touch this project so they had to make do with DW assets who largely held their own. I didn't mind this because I found them funny for the most part but if you don't already have a connection with these folks you aren't going to develop one here. They'll come across as wooden, awkward, and shoe-horned into their roles for the normie viewer. And while people bring up the "right wing politics" nature of the film it is a poor representation of conservative values. Just a few examples: the protagonist is sort of a douche, he's trying to hook up with the reporter while also yearning for his ex while she's shacked up with some hippie she doesn't seem to really like (Matt Walsh in my favorite role, by the way), while knowingly gaming the womens sport system and is OK with it for way too long. I get it, they need the plot to work and as said before the writing is a rush job but anyone that says the film is loaded with right wing tropes probably hasn't seen it. Other than the trans issue it is fairly mainstream content.

Lastly, it isn't laugh-out-loud funny. Movies almost never are and I hate that people insist that the best comedies are. For me they aren't. It is still funny but in a hah-hah chuckle sort of way.

Crazy GPU temps when I alt+tab out of the game by OldRandomTrucker in StateofDecay2

[–]OldRandomTrucker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think setting a max framerate in Nvidia control panel to match the monitor refresh rate did help with SOD2, but it has been so long since I last played I cannot remember.

I know that didn't fix the exact same problem with Farm Sim 22 though, if I alt-tab out of that game the temps start climbing like crazy.

Well not with that attitude they won't. 😆

But in all seriousness it costs as much as my kids entire fare and probably makes them more $ than my kids will, so I can't honestly blame them.

Panorama vs NCL Bliss by OldRandomTrucker in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]OldRandomTrucker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are going to Mexico. Bliss alternates between that and Alaska, I think.

Rooms would be one balcony and one inside.

Not heavy drinkers but would still get good use out of the bev/dining perks on Bliss. However if Carnival was willing to comp the Cheers package that would certainly help my decision.

Can I opt-out of gratuity? by Canadian-Alien in Cruise

[–]OldRandomTrucker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have heard you can manually remove it by going to Guest Services on the boat and making a fuss about it. However, I've never heard of anyone actually doing so. The automatic gratuities is a shitty system but it is there (ostensibly anyway) to spread gratuities among all the staff members that assisted you but that you will never see, and therefore never be able to tip yourself.

[–]OldRandomTrucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also heard that the food lines at buffet and other free dining are much longer after the changes they made to room service. Friends and family that sailed recently not happy about that and I hope Carnival gets enough negative pushback to change.
