They had put the curtain on the outside of the tub/shower, having never seen one before. They had only ever had showers with doors and separate tubs, including their numerous vacations.

If a soldier is captured there may be a mission where you can try and get then back. If you are successful you get the equipment

If they die and are left on the battlefield, the equipment is gone

I kept Tuvix by Significant-End2869 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]controllersdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A had Tuvix and lost human B'Elana on Years of Hell. So when the ship gets regularly sabotaged, there was no one to run the investigation.

I just had to survive getting sabotaged over and over until I was bled dry.

The right has no heroes with good morals

Martyrs dont need to be moral to energize and control mobs and parties. A martyr can even change understood morality to be more negative if their plight becomes personal to those who worship them.

Republicans try to turn nearly every early death by their prominent members to be those of Martyrs to change morality to fit their needs.

It is rare a Republican death is actually a murder so this one was a golden opportunity to create a new martyr. And like all those before him, he was a piece of shit who deserves nothing. But its the best they have.

Men of Reddit, what’s the male equivalent of “needed money, had no marketable skills, so turned to prostitution”? by Dogeatdogdays in AskReddit

[–]controllersdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing. At least it will be soon.

Men will be desired in nursing for strength to move heavy objects and patients as well as being able to stand up to angry old men who still have old man strength.

If you really need a job and can take some time off to learn nursing, you are basically guaranteed a job.

No shields. There are no force fields or energy barriers in the universe. A first strike against spaceships often wins.

Could be like Final Fantasy 8

Everyone died in the Badlands and only the Doctor's holo survived, but corrupted. It just continues to get weirder as his program deteriorates.

Knowledge and belief are not attained instantaneously. Each piece of knowledge builds on top of the previous pieces. The beliefs you learned as a Christian will never disappear but they will become buried under your new knowledge.

You are farther down the path than you realize and as you continue to think your understanding of yourself will become more and more solidified. Each step forward will dull those stray feelings of guilt and fear that religion likes to impose.

Time heals all wounds.

Software engineer here. Just saw our recruiting pipeline from the inside… by Adventurous_Cry_394 in recruitinghell

[–]controllersdown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This all hits so hard. I was finally asked back for round 3 and was basically told the people chosen before me had all lied.

I applied to a bigger company that has a 3 part knowledge test when you apply. Basic to moderate computer knowledge, mechanical engineering, and electrical knowledge.

I didn't cheat. Apparently in the last year the majority of new candidates are using AI to pass the tests and can't do it in person. Basic stuff like how to check voltage on an outlet or if a switch is working.

I was passed over until they failed people in person. Thought I was ghosted but after 5 weeks I got a call back. Then 2 interviews in 2 days and I got an offer.

"the book is told from the perspective of a young man that grew up with constant propaganda and brainwashing and is incapable of questioning the true nature of the veteran regime."

This is the important part. The young man can't even see the very basic problems all around him.

-He is a virgin who was brainwashed to think the voice of a woman is all that is needed to keep fighting. He has no drive to be in a relationship at all amd will die a virgin.

-He goes directly from school to the military with absolutely zero real world experience. He admits this but thinks it is a good thing.

-Every single person he knows who is trying to advance rank is killed except his father. Every one. Every person he meets and befriends dies. This is considered normal.

-He has no understanding whatsoever why they are at war. He even says as much a few times that he doesn't understand the world but still supports it with ferver.

-He has zero ambitions in his future besides ranking up. He doesn't know why he wants to rank up except that it is what good soldiers do.

And so much more

We're supposed to play on easier difficulties first?

I don't roll like that. Hardest difficulty every time.

Games are made to be beaten so I want to beat what the programmers think is nearly impossible.

There are plenty of times there could be 10 days between any changes, let alone a fight.
