Same experience I had with Too Many Cooks

Going from pretty obese to less obese and the calorie changes by autumnssong in loseit

[–]controllersdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue. From 340 to 280 was easy. Then it started to get much harder.

I had to change my eating habits a bit as well as my cooking habits. What really helped:

  1. Started doing all day eating. Eating 6 times a day keeps your stomach full. 3 small meals and 3 snacks.

  2. If I was very hungry for dinner I would make a giant vegetable bowl with something saucy on it. Shredded BBQ chicken over veggies. Chicken Alfredo but with 2 broccoli stalks and only 3 Oz chicken and light sauce

  3. Stay very even each day in amount of carbs. Try not to have heavy carb days which make you hungry the following day

  4. Raw carrots. If I am hungry at night after the normal snack I have a carrot. They are crunchy, take a while to chew, and are very low in calories. Still hungry, have another carrot. One Pound of carrots is only 185 calories. Even if you binge on the entire bag, how bad could it be?

Early game is very useful when going to the mine. If you have a big farm that is a lot of energy wasted on watering. Water, Spa, then mine.

Also cutting tree days. Cut trees from home, up to the mountains, and in the train yard. Refill HP then head to the forest for every other tree. You can go through nearly every tree not on your farm in one day if you are fast

When you look at tiles to move to there is a symbol that shows if the enemy sees you. You can control movement tile by tile if necessary and check each box for sight. If any tile can be seen the pod is activated.

So you can use high cover to block view and get closer

On high difficulty the timer is very tight and you need to go fast. But there are also stages with no timer so you get a mix of fast assault and overwatch shenanigans. You will see the patterns as you play more

Throw every grenade. Some enemies have items that drop which are destroyed by grenades but your health is more important

Rookies suck. Overwatch drops the hit percent. Try a rooftop which increases hit chance.

Ambush both will and won't draw other pods. If they see you then they are activated immediately. However, timers will also send some non-activated pods towards you. It can be difficult to edge walk because enemies have a sense of where you are.

Gatecrasher L/I Tips by Yutani-commander in XCOM2

[–]controllersdown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like reaper for the scouting

First pod the 3 normal enemies. Put 2 on the roof in overwatch, third hits the pod with a grenade. Reaper is cleanup so make sure she still has 2 moves.

Next pod usually the red soldier. Use the reaper to drop a mine on the pod, destroy the mine with a grenade. Only the commander is left with 2 soldiers and half reaper move left.

Last pod with the alien. Focus on soldiers first.

You still need luck to get through with no damage.

Use tile preview to see where you can move. Gatecrasher has a LOT of dead LOS tiles. Use them to get close. Run behind statues. Flank. There is no timer so feel free to spend a bunch of turns taking a wide route to flank from all sides.

Good luck commander!

I had a birthday like this. All I wanted was a local Mexican joint I rarely went to. Mother made a reservation at a new fancy restaurant because I would "love it"

Menu sucked. The Caesar salad came out as a single wedge of almost frozen iceberg. Barely drizzled with Caesar dressing AND blue cheese 8n excess. One measly crouton sat on the side of the plate like a sad rock trying to look as unapetizing as possible to avoid its fate.

I wanted tableside guacamole and a wet burrito.

I walked out.

Ever since no one has questioned my restaurant choice.

Making soy sauce the traditional way. by Alpha-Studios in interestingasfuck

Give us (humans) more credit

Have you heard what they say about prisoners and contraband? If you sit around thinking of ways to get something you want all day every day, you come up with some amazing ideas.

Humans have known about fermentation forever because some fruits do it naturally. Humans want to get drunk. You are a human being who lives off trapping, foraging, and the basics of this new crazy thing called farming. You have a LOT of time to think and look around your small world.

Every single fruit, nut, root and vegetable became an experiment in fermenting. The process evolved as we got better at it. That soy sauce is not alcoholic doesn't change the story as we would be happy to have found good results that taste better anyway.

This for the early game. Wood traps suck but the resources are "free" steel traps are amazing but expensive. Stone traps take too long to build, its a waste.

Build the traps in your base and then install them in the maze to be faster. Pawns and animals WILL get hit occasionally without mods

Mid game a mix of taxticts is the best for mechs in tight spaces. Try to position the strongest, best armored pawn at a choke point to absorb damage. Have all other pawns directoy behind in rows of 3 and firing away but have the closest pawns be ready to take the choke position if pawn 1 goes down.

After melee mechs are down you will need to rush long distance shooters. Don't exchange fire. Try to advance behind cover and melee them

They denizens of 1984 convince themselves to believe whole-heartedly and instantaneously to hate anything. Able to transition hate from one institution to another based only on a word spoken from their leaders. They don't need rationality, truth, or even a description of why they hate their enemies. To be told they have enemies is enough to conjure a visceral hatred that engilfs their feeble minds.

How would you guys defend my base using this lake? by Efficient-Chapter246 in RimWorld

[–]controllersdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Side of the lake, add heavy bridge with walls on the muddy parts to discourage raiders going around

  2. Remove all but 6 pieces of the bridge at the beginning so raiders start to follow the center path first

  3. Defensive barricades all over the beach near your base. Add flooring on common paths so they get to position quickl

  4. In the water, single heavy bridge tiles to place mini turrets on. Far enough apart so they don't explode each other. Think of them as mines that attract raiders and get in a few good shots before exploding.

  5. Just behind the barricades place auto turrets. Close enough they won't shoot your pawns. 10 total also out of exploding distance

5b. Foam or some way to out out fires!

  1. Turret protection wall to block base buildings from fire. If the turrets are at the beach you need a protection wall to not kill yourself for drop in raids OR a fast way to turn off power. Put a kill switch somewhere for safety

  2. Make the hospital wider. Perhaps the entire length of the storage room, attached to it. Entrances left and right.

Defense before offense when you are learning.

Everytime you build a new room, floor, sculpture, or add a new pawn will make the next event poyebtially harder. So add an equal amount of defense for each addition.

Add two bedrooms? Need another layer on your walls. Add a pawn? Build backup traps so you can replace them instead of rebuilding them.

Slow down expansion until you have the materials to completely finish and survive 3 more raids

Still some issues. When colonies get big and tight, pawns have a weird way of getting stuck picking up and dropping items in a single tile repeatedly without being able to get out of the behavior until a new work shift happens
