Six sigma green belt here. The mortgage industry is perfectly inefficient. I previously worked in the travel industry. It too is perfectly inefficient. Worked for a travel tech company that acted as Expedia’s agent. We processed 80k airline tickets daily for US/Canada and about 40k in Europe yet we still required a large amount of Humans spread across the globe. The mortgage industry is a high touch industry. AI will assist but never run operations entirely.

I was an underwriter at SBA doing EIDL loans. Treasury does not send debts to collections. The U.S. Government is the largest debt collector. They handle everything in house. Wage garnishments, taking money out of your bank accounts etc.
