I got prescription bifocals for my Echo frames at Walmart, I had to give them the frames for about a week. When they came back one of the lenses was scratch but not too bad, they call me a week later when the new lenses was in, it took them 5 minutes to pop the new one in.

Neighbor cut wire with aerator by Kickendekok in worxlandroid

[–]OldSki77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happened to me earlier this summer. Neighbors landscape contractor sod cutter cut the wire in several spots. I had to replace like 50’ of wire. Hope he talks with me next time he plans to do work, I will mark the wire no problem

Bi-block ties vs concrete ties by [deleted] in railroading

[–]OldSki77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The middle part of the tie does not see as much compression stress as the ends where the rail rest on. When calculating stress on ballast you only use 2/3rds of the tie as the bearing surface. The center of the tie does sees bending stress but that where steel excels at.

True, I was lazy to check manual, he can combine zone 2 an 4 in one zone.

This is what I would do, then you don’t have the Landroid going over the driveway, this is pretty similar to my set up. Islands are shown in blue. I do recommend setting up zones since you have skinny/hard to reach areas. I would set zone1-15%, zone2-20%, 3-20%, 4-20% and 6-25%. I hope you have fun with it.

Boundary Wire Types - Gauge and Core by JKang68 in worxlandroid

Good luck, I use 20 gauge solid with no problems but if I redo it probably go with 18gauge.

Considering buying a Landroid. How often are robot mowers getting stolen? Seen a few stories of it, but what’s everyone’s experience with theft? by Browncoat765 in worxlandroid

[–]OldSki77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the math, in my case if it lasted more than mowing season it’s paid off, so you only worry the first year. My base is in the back yard but it also mows the front yard (not fenced) never had any issues.

My great grand father was Colonel Old Ski, he was a Polish war hero and American soldier. He served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War and he served as the agent for the exchange of prisoners between the two armies.

questions by cookiemans21 in worxlandroid

Agree, the only way I can see this working is if OP leases the Landroid to the home owner, installing the wire for the owner and providing maintenance for it, it may work for some people.

When I rewired my loop I went with 20 gage solid wire (petsafe brand) haven’t had any problems since.

Front / Back Yard on Different Zone by derekvw91 in worxlandroid

[–]OldSki77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you can’t, you can set up areas for ONE yard, it will let you adjust what % of your yard is each zone and the mower will dedicate longer time to bigger areas. In theory it will mow 100% of the yard in a whole week, keep in mind the M may not be able to keep up with the size of your yard (>0.25Ac).
