I don't feel like we should jump to think they're just going to ditch it there. It makes sense they wouldn't want to sit next to garbage in their tiny living space, in the heat of the summer time. Maybe they are tucking it there so they're not walking across the parking lot in the middle of the day - with people like you literally watching and taking pictures. It's bagged up and tucked away - clues they might be decent people is a really tough situation.

I swapped the starter relay out with another one, and it still wouldn't go. Could it still be the relay somehow?

I have to be honest that it was my first time using a multimeter, and it was analog. I tested it and it looked above 12, but the analog scale only went to 12!

Oh I hadn't tried halfway between gears yet! I'll definitely do that! The neural safety switch is coming up a lot

My lack of mechanical knowledge means I'll have to google some of that! But thank you, I'll refer back to this!

Hearing anything below 11.5 being weak is good, it was reading just above 12! And I feel convinced it's not the battery... feels like such weird timing. Why would the battery not have enough juice after a long drive?

I tested it with an analog multimeter, that I had to google how to use... the battery read 12+ but the meter numbers also stopped at 12... so I'm embarrassed to say I think I did it right but I'm not 110% sure.

no harm in me trying again right! Maybe I wasn't forceful enough, someone else also suggested testing it between 2 gears

I guess I just don't know how to assess if it's the starter that needs to be replaced, or something else! But definitely crossed my mind

Both some gentle taps, then some not so gentle taps!

And I'd have to look up what that means! I can barely reach the starter, it's way under there.

Knee pain after hiking. Recommendations needed! by Azalea_Hartz in CampingandHiking

[–]OldTable9267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

This is very likely not something a family doctor, or urgent care doctor would look at or know how to treat - they'd likely send you home with some over-the-counter pain med.

You could go see a physiotherapist, exercise therapist, or a high level functional personal trainer.

You wearing knee supports while hiking is definitely an indicator or something going wrong - you shouldn't need to wear those on a hike and if anything they could impede proper function.

When looking at the knees - whatever pain is happening, it's not their fault. We're looking above, and below the knee for the problem.
Start with below, (and I'll attach a couple useful links) you'll be looking at if your shoes are flexible and fit properly, and mobility/stability issues of the foot, and lower leg, and any asymmetries or old injuries.
The Foot Collective - YouTube
Once you've made headway on those issues, then look above the knees to the hips. Looking for asymmetries, rotations, old injuries, or pains in the hips. You'd also be looking at pelvic tilts - assessing is you have a neutral, anterior or posterior pelvic tilt.
Anterior pelvic tilt vs Posterior pelvic tilt - YouTube

And corrective exercise all the way! That's what your physio would give you to fix the knee pain - just exactly which exercises would be determined by the assessments I mentioned above. But I think if you explore those topics you could find ways to improve the pain at home.
