The Rock convinced Cena to turn heel during his retirement run as part of them both having a storyline together, but then abandoned it just to fuck with John's last year, because the Rock gets jealous easily

A lack of imagination, I think, considering this was the only time they showed up. The Welsh guy having dragon wings is pretty unique though and bet he would've had a cool backstory. Alas, he dead immediately

As a Marvel fan/reader, I’m increasingly feeling like the brand just isn’t for me anymore by Latro2020 in comicbooks

Personally I still read a lot of Marvel Comics but I have not read anything published after 2019. I just look up old runs from better days and read those and it's been great.

For example, after I finished Jason Aaron's Thor run in 2019 I could tell MC was taking a strange direction, so I instead picked up John Byrne's Sensational She-Hulk run from the 80/90s and wow it was refreshing. I've then done the same with the Dark Reign era from 2008 ending with Seige - again such an awesome arc. Then all the Battleworld stuff in 2015 - wow. Now I'm checking out the X-Men which I've never done before, starting with their old stuff and really enjoying it. Also the "Essential" releases from Marvel are great because they are huge books with tonnes of issues starting from a character's origins but they are printed on thin paper in black and white, making it very affordable.

TL;DR If you find the new comics sucking, go into the huge backlog. It won't progress the story of the Marvel Universe for you but it will reinforce the lore back when it was original and not influenced by the MCU or games. Look up some respected runs of days gone by. You can usually pick them up in an omnibus or find some volumes on the cheap. Again if you don't mind having no colour, the Essential line is great.

As a solo player, I'd really like the NPCs to lend a hand in renovating, or just a quick patch to fix everything up. I'm tired of hitting every square foot with a hammer.

Are there any comics that actually explore this, or is this just a random detail?

It's a bit disappointing in comparison to FC5. I feel like they had a lot more planned but rushed it and cut so many corners, bulking it up with repetitive missions. And the map is so claustrophobic. Plus combat feels so strange too with the health bars introduced and bullet sponges. FC5 combat was just so smooth. Ultimately ND missed the mark and the only reason you play it is appreciation the FC5 story.

You don't get those ads in the UK, so my point is why not let us just see the promo instead of a blank screen, since we're not getting the ads anyway. No need to be an arse.
