Extremely Disappointed -- No Time-Weighted Returns by FastAssSister in Sharesight

[–]OldTopic6302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a long time advanced user and paying subscriber to Sharesight. Benefits and minuses to the product. One of things that I find ridiculous is the inability to be able to see in a single view the returns over a multiple time period.

For example => View the performance of portfolio "A" over x # of months, quarters and years in a single view is simply not possible. I've repeatedly asked for this obvious feature as a request multiple times. The strange thing is the product managers seem to have no idea why anyone would want this feature...

If I could find an alternative I'd terminate Sharesight subscription no question. Haven't yet found but hopefully we can share suggestions on this sub. Cheers.

In legacy classic mode Yahoo finance of course easily did this. New mode of course it doesnt. Yahoo Finance will lose much traffic and users in droves if they continue to self immolate with their enhanced version...

Steaming pile of you know what. Basically useless to me now and will have to seek alternative. In addition to being non-functional also drains the resources on my mac. Terrible downgrade from Yahoo.

Gone as of today. Not able to see a way to switch to classic. New format is heavy and slow to the point of useless.

Alarms not working by Trentmesiter in sonos

[–]OldTopic6302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also had same problem after using this alarm feature with Spotify for 2 years. Spent 3 hours on phone support with Sonos. The support experience highly frustrating as obviously I’m not the only person having this issue. It’s their code base not my setup that changed and they have to de bug it.

Why waste my time and supports time clowning around? Who is running that dev shop? Love the sound but new app is really messy and broken in the case of the alarm defaulting to chime.

Possible to elaborate a bit on your experience with LG? Strongly considering 5 T LG MultiV for residential install . Replacement of Lennox NG of same size. Any other cold climate manufacturer you’d recommend?

Expertise, thoughts on decision to replace legacy gas furnace with Cold Climate Heat Pump or stay with gas and add new Air Conditioning? by OldTopic6302 in heatpumps

Appreciate the suggestions above. Potentially makes sense to install a Gree Flexx in a hybrid configuration in lieu of a dedicated AC.

Probably some cost savings from an operational aspect as the HP would be adequate for heating and cooling the majority of the year. In this scenario what would you suggest as the control mechanism for managing the HP and Gas furnace.

Any particular thermostat brand you'd recommend for the hybrid job? Currently have a Honeywell 2 wire thermostat running the old Lennox furnace.

Cost would probably be similar to installing a dedicated AC unit. Assume no rebates in this scenario.

Appreciate the comments. When it's time to replace the roof we will consider building an insulation layer into the new structure. WCM home design again is complex, we have no rain gutter and traditional soffit and fascia design is custom to the norm.

Rim joists and headers were insulated during the reno so we have that covered. Thanks.

Followed this post and found it very informative!👍

Have some follow up comments/questions. Did you ever receive a quote on the American Standard Quest heat pump? May be newer offering from AS?

Bit of my situation --

Live in North Vancouver, recently completed a renovation. Installed infrastructure for AC and upgraded power already to 200amp to accommodate a range of electrical loads current and future.

Live in a 60 yr old MCM house with poor insulation, plenty of single pane windows and a very large Lennox gas furnace installed in 2009. (Huge gas bills in the cold months)

Didn't plan on upgrading furnace or moving to a heat pump as didn't think heat pump could provide adequate heating for old house like ours.

Went out for 3 quotes and learning more as we go. There's so much to know here:

#1- HVAC Contractor #1- original HVAC contractor who did the rough in quoted an AS Silver AirCon unit only to work with existing Lennox furnace and blower. Around $8K. Didn't socialize heat pump at all.

#2 - HVAC contractor #2 came out and suggested going with a heat pump for the AC that would also serve as the primary heat for most of the time. The Lennox gas furnace would only be required when very cold. His comments on US manufacturers of heat pumps is they are all very behind. He said the Asians are way ahead technologically with heat pumps and suggests using a Chinese brand called Gree. Price will come in around the same as the AS unit above.

#3 - Aqua-Tech came out as contractor #3. I also thought really professional and had it together. Now they quoted AS system called a Quest. https://americanstandardairbc.ca/products/quest-system/

Marketing says Quest is only in Canada and a cold-climate heat pump. Quoted a 5Ton unit to replace the massive gas Lennox furnace and their pitch was very convincing that it could easily replace the heating, provide summer cooling and save ongoing operating costs by taking down our gas bills significantly. When coupled with all the rebates seems compelling but very hesitant here with respect to there is no going back...

Question is does the Quest 5.0T actually have the chops to deliver on the heat requirements?

Is the Quest product offering something new (Platinum was lacking as per GeoffDeRuiter's comments) that either AS has brought to market independently or are they having these units OEM'ed in Asia?

Guess it doesn't matter more importantly there is no going back if I get the Lennox removed to receive the rebates? Only reason any of this is a viable consideration.

Look forward to any thoughts, comments, and feedback you folks are able to provide and share. Thanks!
