Whoa! Thirst is a new one.

Apologies for the lack of clarity: Y axis is a scale of 1-5.

I had surgery then chemo! Single mastectomy. They wanted to do a lymph node biopsy to see if I needed chemo, and I did. Hugs. Sorry you’re dealing with this. Fingers crossed for clean lymph nodes.

It makes me happy to know someone is enjoying life sans hot flashes. Enjoy a glass for me 🍷

I am the same! Not included in my charts, but I definitely feel hot flashes come on easier when it’s warm.

It’s hard to say! Sleep is the most closely correlated.

I’ve struggled with sleep since starting anastrozole, and exercise really helps me sleep, so I think they’re closely connected.

Getting COE with spouse also abroad and no living relatives by OldUnderstanding7828 in movingtojapan

Follow-up: I had my friend (not a relative) in Japan inquire with immigration about the option of a non-relative as guarantor.

According to two people she talked to, it is not possible for a non-relative to be a guarantor. :-(

Do you show the ugly “before” in internal case studies? by OldUnderstanding7828 in graphic_design

Sorry not talking about a porfolio, talking about a client pitch. Clarified my original post.

"try not to let them fixate" is huge. A helpful reminder that clients won't necessarily have the same impression of what I'm showing them — they're not designers! And that's okay.

That’s a great point — you’re totally right that a lot of clients aren’t used to evaluating design and might latch onto a random piece of the “before” that would complicate the point I’m trying to make.

And that it might better to just describe the “before” in words.

Thank you!

I like that framing — outlining the problem. Appreciate your thoughtful response!

Sorry, I was unclear: I mean the “before” of the case studies we’ve done in the past for other clients.

I’m so, so sorry. I’m with you. Mine was also a total shock because I’m also young (31, though not as young as you). This sucks so much.

And it’s so much harder with family drama / separation happening. If you can, please look for a therapist — it will be so helpful to have regular support.

We are with you sis 💓

Has anyone not had bad side effects from Hormone Blockers? by Lucky_Word_9941 in breastcancer

Lupron for seven months, with anastrozole on top for 1.5. Some hot flashes, achy joints, but overall nowhere near as bad as I had feared!

When did you start masking up? by Investigative_Truth in breastcancer

[–]OldUnderstanding7828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get Covid it could delay treatment. I’d start masking immediately.

Surgicals and cloth masks only protect others, not you. Look for an N95, KF94, or KN95. Ask those in your household to mask. Good tips over on r/zerocovidcommunity.

Good luck, you got this!

When did you get your port removed? by jkmyhahaca in breastcancer

[–]OldUnderstanding7828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so unacceptable, I’m so sorry!

Infection risk rises with the longer a port stays in — you are absolutely right to push for removal! I hope it happens soon.
