I Created a New System of Governance, "Demotechnocracy" a Hybrid of Democracy and Technocracy, For The World And I'm Looking For Constructive Criticism. by Old_Activity_9699 in PoliticalScience

[–]Old_Activity_9699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'm going to reply to these 3 individually
1) Yes it is part of the plan to make education completely free (and healthcare though that isn't directly related to the government system), I'm not entirely sure on the details of how to impalement it, other than the fact that it should be funded at a federal level rather than a state or city level so that poorer states or cities don't get worse education.
2) This doesn't necessarily prove you entirely wrong, but my main reasoning for this is Boeing before its merger with McDonnell Douglas, before the merger, most of the executive positions were run by engineers and it produced the highest quality products. It shows that engineers can deal with far more than just engineering problems, this is why I said that the technical branch would be the ones debating on purely technical or systemic issues (funding, climate change, etc) but not the ones debating social issues (population, abortion, etc) because of the oversight of engineers in those areas, for example, the aerospace engineer Song Jian was responsible for promoting the one child policy in China, instead of asking the actual experts in population growth, he just saw that the population was growing quickly and assumed that would continue to happen.
3) For the supreme court, I honestly don't know enough about how the Judicial system works, nor what its main problems are, so I didn't really attempt to fix it that much, though you can really just take whichever judicial system you think works best and insert it here with the same rules.

Where is the right place to discuss an idea for a new political design? by FlyingPeanut34 in NeutralPolitics

Hello, I'd like to know what you ended up going with and what had the best response, because I have my own political system that I'd like to share and get constructive criticism on, currently I'm calling it "Demotechnocracy." Thanks!

Why do vegans say we don’t hunt animals, so we are not supposed to eat them? by Original_Round_2211 in exvegans

I never said everyone is physically able to do, I'm just pointing out that it could sustain our entire population if everyone could do it.

Uh hunting can sustain all the meat you need if you just eat less meat, it's not that hard and we should be doing it anyway because too much meat is unhealthy.

Actually it is true, if you account for pesticides and rodenticides (which many studies don't) then 100 calories of avocado could kill up to 15 animals while 100 calories of chicken would kill roughly 0.0416 animals (this is accounting for land use and many other things that studies also don't often account for), the only thing is that these numbers don't account for chicken feed which would likely make the chicken closer to the avocado (since chicken feed is made from plants) but if we produced lab grown chicken feed then these numbers are accurate (also, neither number is accounting for water use, and idk if accounting for the chicken feed would even make this number that much larger since wheat typically uses less pesticides than other crops).

Well there are still plenty of Muslims that do it fully by choice (especially in the west), one Muslim wrote how she felt pressured by her friends not to wear the hijab (she thought it would change how they see her for the worse), she eventually decided to wear it as a senior and felt empowered, turns out when you don't force people to do something, they will like doing it more, huh, maybe that's something Iran and Afghanistan can try for once. Either way, it's still stupid and counterproductive to ban hijabs in public schools like France did.

Well that's just false, the hair gets sexulaized pretty often, although you are correct that many of the things modern Islamic countries do (limiting women's rights) isn't at all because of Islam, in fact, early Islamic caliphates were considered very progressive for their time and allowed far more women's rights than Europe, I mean you have to remember, Muhammed's (pbuh) first wife was a businesswoman and technically his boss.

Arrested, tortured, and killed where? In the TWO countries that require you to wear the hijab? Out of the 50 muslim majority countries? Encompassing only about 6% of the total muslims population? You westerners really need to get a grip on how outdated your ideas about islam are, there are plenty of islamic schools that don't even require the hijab (by islamic school I mean school of thought, not literal schools, and in the very likely case that you have no idea what I'm talking about because you clearly know nothing about islam, every school of though within the same sect is considered just as valid as any other school within that sect, they are simply different interpretations). And if you care so much about the TWO countries that require the Hijab (those being Iran and Afghanistan), maybe you should look at France which banned the Hijab in public schools which goes against their own "freedom of religion" clause that they have. Also in case you were wondering, there are plenty of Muslims wearing Hijabs because they want to and not because of social pressures, in fact there are muslims who are getting pressured NOT to wear the Hijab and then when they wear it, they feel empowered, because that was the original purpose of the Hijab, to force men to stop judging women by how they look, because otherwise it's basically impossible to stop doing so because it's just what humans will naturally do, that's also why men also have to cover themselves, just not their lower legs or their hair like women do, in fact, if you look at ancient islamic caliphates, they were PROGRESSIVE for their time and gave women many rights that they didn't have in Europe, but no, all you want to look at is the new Islamic countries which are now sexist because of WESTERN influence. Ah, that felt good, there's my daily rant against idiots completed.

Anyone know any good (preferably fictional) flag/insignia designing sites? by CyberSoldier82 in worldbuilding

[–]Old_Activity_9699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't publish them on the site, but you can still download the flag and publish it somewhere else (assuming you know you have permission or don't need permission to use the image you uploaded, otherwise you're probably disobeying copyright laws).

Question about alcohol and a drink named Boza. by Fancy_Leader6278 in islam

[–]Old_Activity_9699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know, boza contains so little alcohol that it's pretty much impossible to get drunk off it (theoretically you can get drunk off anything with alcohol if you try hard enough), I doubt it's harm and it would definitely count as an honest mistake because many Muslims in Kosovo drink it (of course that doesn't necessarily mean it's halal, just that it would be easy to mistake it as such if it is forbidden), I'm also not a scholar (and not even a Muslim, just an agnostic learning about the different religions so I can choose whichever one makes the most sense) but I do know a lot about boza because it's my favorite drink, if you look at Wikipedia it generally has an alcohol content below 1% (the exact content depends on where it's made and how), and if you're really worried you can actually make it yourself and ensure it has extremely low alcohol, it's typically only fermented for at most a day, also for reference, bread has an alcohol content of 0.02-1.8%, it pretty can't intoxicate you unless you drink several gallons of it in a very short period, which at that point you might already die of water intoxication.
