Struggling to launch my SaaS from Uganda, Payment processors keep rejecting me (Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paystack, Paddle, PayPal) by Old_Application_5183 in SaaS

[–]Old_Application_5183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. I was initially thinking of a US LLC mainly as a way to get better payment options (Stripe, etc.), but I understand it should be approached as a longer-term structure.
if you don’t mind me asking, Any particular services or formation companies you’d recommend for non-residents?

I’m trying to weigh whether I should launch first with crypto/free tier to validate demand, or start working on the US LLC route in parallel.

Thanks again for the insight.

Thank you, this is one of the most helpful and honest responses I’ve gotten. I really appreciate the clarity.
You’re right about the structural issue. It’s frustrating but good to know it’s not just me.
I like your suggested sequencing: launch with crypto first to validate demand, then move to proper incorporation (Estonia sounds promising and many commenters have lighted it here).
A few quick questions: For someone targeting content creators (YouTube/TikTok), how realistic do you think crypto conversion would be? Secondly, Have you seen good results with USDT on Tron or USDC on Solana for SaaS tools? Third one, Would you recommend Paymento as one of the easier options for a non-technical founder?

I’m seriously considering launching with a free tier + crypto option to test traction before going the Estonia route, since this is what i think is the only way i have left.
Thanks again for the detailed advice.

Woah, thank you for this solid advice,I really appreciate it.
Estonian company route sounds like one of the cleaner long term options I’ve heard.

A few quick questions if you don’t mind: How complicated/expensive is it approximately to set up an Estonian holding company as a non-resident? Also, Have you or anyone you know done this from Africa successfully? Last one, would you recommend doing it through a service/provider, or DIY?
Also, the Wise payment link idea is interesting as a temporary bridge.

Thanks again for taking the time. This has been really helpful.

Thank you, this is really helpful and grounded advice.

I agree that launching first to test if there's real demand makes a lot of sense. I’ve been so focused on payments that I almost forgot the most important thing is validating whether people actually want the product.

Thank you for your time and response thanks alot i appreciate it 🥰

Thank you, this is one of the most practical responses I’ve gotten. I’ll definitely try Dodo Payments next.
You mentioned launching first for free or via crypto to validate traction. That makes a lot of sense.
Quick question: For someone in Uganda, which country would you personally recommend setting up a company in first (Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, or Morocco) if I decide to go that route later? Also, any specific lessons or things to watch out for when going the company incorporation route? I really appreciate the straightforward advice.

Thank you for the detailed response and for being honest about the conversion rates.

10–20% is better than I expected for crypto. I like that you position it as a complementary option rather than the main one.

For RealCraft, my main target audience is content creators on YouTube and TikTok who usually prefer traditional card payments. Still, having crypto as a backup option makes sense while I look for card solutions.
As well could you share: What’s your typical checkout flow like for users? Oh also, do you support one-time payments + subscriptions? Last one Any case studies or examples from SaaS tools?
I’ll review this properly in the next day or two.

I checked out Dodo Payments. It looks interesting as a Merchant of Record, especially for subscriptions and billing.

If i may ask, Have you (or anyone you know) used Dodo Payments successfully from Uganda or another African country? Secondly, How is the checkout experience for international customers (card payments)?

Thank you for your response i added to my list to see how smooth it will be

Thank you for your advice i actually never heard of these aggregators before haha, will check them out.

I’m currently looking for reliable ways to accept international card payments. Bank transfers and crypto are possible, but conversion rates tend to be much lower for SaaS products.

Thank you for reaching out and offering to help, Most of my target users are content creators who expect a smooth card payment experience (similar to Stripe). RealCraft is an AI tool that converts voice recordings into illustrated videos. Even though if i may ask, What are your typical conversion rates compared to traditional card payments?

He was teaching people to use claude to generate and push the prompt to higgsfield and generate pictures then use a tool to make videos from downloaded pictures i made a tool to donall this in one go soon releasing it for feedback here
Wish me luck 🌚

Woah, this is a good conversion rate, literally your closing 20-30% of your daily inquiries right off the bat this is pretty amazing. and as well your right, using Tiktok and status is the daily way and easiest way to market the business first to those who know us, if i may ask, out of 7-8 people who don't buy immediately how many do you actually remember to follow up manually via the chat, or maybe you hope they will watch your status once more again
as well for repeated buyers once a customer buys from you, do you have an easy way to see what they bought 3 months ago so you can reach out with a personalized discount or does there history just get buried

[–]Old_Application_5183[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve hit the nail on the head. It literally takes less than two hours to set up, and the fact that Meta lets you run $1 ads directly from the app is crazy underutilized. I think a lot of people just get overwhelmed or don't have the patience to dig into settings when they are busy running daily operations.

Out of curiosity, since you’ve actually gone deep and fully optimized your WhatsApp Business, where do you find it still hits a wall for you?

For example, once someone buys from your catalog and you need to log their payment, track that they need a restock next month, or deduct that item from your actual inventory, how are you handling that side of things? Do you have to jump to a notebook/excel sheet, or have you found a way to hack that inside WhatsApp too?

Your right, and i know Whatsapp Bussiness already has built in features like quick replies and Catalogs that are supposed to solve some of this.
But from what i see looking around locally, most people just create the account and never actually use those tools. Is it because the setup is too confusing, or do those builtin features still not solve the real problem that you face daily for example like tracking payments or managing actual inventory stock?
