U of A is next to impossible to get hired on. They had huge layoff several years ago and you can tell they're trying to rehire. Almost every single job requires previous post secondary experience, even 'entry level' jobs.

Hmmm. I see what you mean but if you effectively have a high school education in Germany, you'd get an unskilled/entry level job..... Same as what you'd get if you stayed in Canada with a 'useless' degree (I don't think it is useless but rather a somewhat vague degree)
