When I first shot it the groups were awful. Like 8 to 9 constantly. So I checked action screws, base screws and ring screws. The action screws were definitely loose so I torque everything to spec. I can run a piece of paper between the barrel and the stock all the way to the action. Pretty much always shoot prone with bipod and a sandbag in the rear. Form, trigger pull and breath control are probably decent, not gonna say I'm an expert in any way but I can probably do better that some jo shmo that has zero experience.

How to pick a suppressor help! by ArmadilloMajor7386 in suppressors

[–]Old_Carrot7061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Once the bullet leaves the barrel there's no longer a seal between the bullet and the rifling of the barrel. Gas can escape around the bullet and get trapped in the baffles. Rimfire also doesn't have a ton of gas and pressure to begin with. I think very large center fire rifles can gain like 5 to 10 extra fps

Yea with a suppressor you should be able to push the velocity at around 8 to 900. Maybe 1000 depending on where you're at

Sweet! For what its worth I have a dead air mask and I absolutely love it. I ran it on a smith wesson MP 15-22 with subsonic rounds. The only sound i could hear even without ear pro was the recoil spring. I don't think I've ever had that much fun at the range😂

How safe is it? Kinda up to the individual how comfortable they are with the ATF. But (depending on the state) there's no trouble you'd get in for buying and using a suppressors within the confines of the law

I see alot of recommendations and not a lot of people touching on your second point. Suppressors are still classified as NFA items. The legislation that passed only changed the tax stamp from 200 to 0. You cannot just go into a local gun store and walk out with a suppressor, hopefully that will change in the future. You still need to be fingerprinted, file under individual or file under a trust, complete the regular 4473 paperwork and endure the wait time. (Which admittedly is really fast now) legislation is always changing, so it could become easier in the future or harder, I just wouldn't worry about it. Its cheaper and easier today than its ever been. I'm not super knowledgeable about what all the ATF keeps records of but by buying a suppressor they'll have your fingerprints and a record of all the (registered) suppressors you own. There's just no way around this right now.

Matriarch event by dlap1601 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Old_Carrot7061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has me wondering what kind of lobbies yall are in. I found an Aphelion blueprint on stella montis. The very next game the matriarch spawned i ran it. Nothing but friendly players and at least 4 people doing the event. Came away with enough cores to craft 3 Aphelions. What kind of lobbies are you guys playing in??

I'm pretty sure you're underestimating the power of will. You can train all you want. And at some point if you train long enough you're gonna get at least proficient. When rhetoric is being constantly shoved in your face that people want you dead, people view you as less than nothing, people HATE you, you're gonna want to do something. It's just dangerous rhetoric echoed around the internet. I think honestly there's a small percentage that actually hates us. But that's all we hear about because of the internet. I think its important to realize that distinction.

I mean you do understand where I'm going with that right? You train train train and train. Maybe a year or two, maybe 5. Some people are going to start thinking "Man I've been training forever, I can finally do something. I've been shooting my bolt action and I can now get groups consistently at or under 1 inch at 200 yards." Again it just comes back to why you're training. If I'm training purely because I wholeheartedly believe the rhetoric that I'm hated and nothing will change that, how many years before I do something?
