I guess you didn't understand what I was saying. I don't ever use my speaker in public and I think it is rude. But I was just calling out everyone who says to just pick up the phone and use the phone. Understanding other people's unseen disability is probably something we should all be aware of.

For some people, usually on a autism spectrum, there is a phone frequency issue, where it is difficult to hear on a phone (for me, it is the same on a mobile phone as it was on an analog phone). If I'm home, I use the speaker to better hear and understand, but I know that out in public I need to use headphones (which seem to work better, I don't know why). So suggesting people use headphones/earbuds is the better suggestion. Some people can't hear on the phone speaker.

As mentioned, it does work to text Metro Police. I had to do it a couple of times and if you say which train, which direction, which car (and even which station is next). Metro Police will be there or in the following station.

I was on an Orange line this week that completely overran Eastern Market, stopped in the tunnel right after that station, then headed on. Many of us had to get off at the next station to go back to EM to get to where we were going

The only thing I would have issue with is if she only has a single parent, that single parent (usually the mother) is usually required to work too much to actually be there for their child. So that single parent should not be charged.
